Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the VP of Analytics is responsible for driving the strategy and delivery of our analytics efforts across multiple functions at Early Warning (EWS). This leader will manage and develop teams across Product Analytics, Data Science, and Marketing and Client Analytics, bringing forward actionable insights to enable data-driven decision-making across these teams and at EWS more broadly.
You will be developing a best-in-class analytics teams that leverage a vast amount of first-party data to drive critical operational and strategic decisions. Working with cross functional partners you’ll be a key stakeholder in defining data instrumentation and analytics requirements for product releases, as well as measuring success and impact. You will be responsible for proactively identifying new and innovative ways to drive value and impact for EWS and our customers through Data Science and Analytics. You will partner with other leaders across the CDO organization to drive a culture of analytics, measurement, and accountability.
Overall Purpose
The Vice President of Analytics is responsible for leading analytics, reporting and research operations, transforming data into business value, building scored products and services, and driving insights and thought leadership across the company, network banks, consortium members and market. Responsible for leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and other tools to create value from one of the broadest bases of financial information, for the purposes of reducing fraud and risks, for consumers, merchants and the banks we serve. Working hand in hand with product management, software engineering, data strategy, you will help to commercialize a range of products and services designed to reduce friction for good customers, while ensuring the safety of the financial system, including our Zelle payment network.

Essential Functions:
  • Advance capabilities in analytics, research and reporting to deliver timely business insights.
  • Support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
  • Collaborate with external partners including academia, Fintech and government agencies to deliver analytics solutions.
  • Enable data science model development, validation and certification such that modeled products meet Model Risk Management and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with product leaders and bank consortium members to solve industry-wide fraud and risk management issues.
  • Advance capabilities in machine learning and streaming analytics to enable the development of next generation of scored products and services.
  • Drive integrated insights bringing behavioral, attitudinal, market and competitor data to advise on company strategy, product development and marketing strategy.
  • Build, develop and inspire highly engaged, high performing analytics and data science teams, building the foundations for an Analytics Center of Excellence.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 10 or more years of leadership experience developing and retaining highly engaged, high performing analytics teams
  • Demonstrated success meeting business needs while leading significant analytics and data science functions or centers of excellence
  • Comfort with product analytics, experimentation concepts and data visualization tools
  • Exhibit deep customer obsession, strong collaboration and highly effective stakeholder management skills and mindset
  • Background and drug screen
  • Expertise in creating and deploying best practices and methodologies in analytics and research in support of product development, marketing strategy, or similar impact
  • Financial services domain knowledge, including expertise at the intersection of compliance, risk, finance and consumer domains
  • Demonstrate executive presence, with ability to immediately establish credibility with executives
  • 15 or more years of related experience in data and analytics, with progressively increasing responsibility

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a gift for storytelling with data and simplifying complex analytical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Financial services or Fintech background
  • Previous hands-on experience as a practicing analyst, data scientist, management consultant, quantitative researcher, or operations role with strong process-orientation and keen understanding of efficient delivery of analytics projects
  • Additional education including Master’s degree
  • Familiarity with quantitative techniques, primary research and how they can be applied to solve business problems
  • Experience with machine learning and data science model development and deployment
  • Expertise with financial industry data science models

Physical Requirements
Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

The pay scale for this position in San Francisco, CA, and New York in USD per year is:
a minimum of $275K
a maximum of $300K
