  • Conceptualize data analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and anticipate impact of state and federal policy changes.
  • Design and develop new data visualizations, dashboards, and other analytical tools to better comprehend and translate health care data for advocacy and policy development.
  • Review and analyze published studies on California’s hospitals and health care system to validate their accuracy and identify erroneous conclusions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide clear and concise feedback, analysis, and expertise on data analytics.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the Director of Data Analytics and the Data Analytics Coordinator.
  • Provide expertise and stewardship for relevant data sets, including hospital finance data and be comfortable conducting high-level data analyses and working with large data sets.

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data analytics, business administration, public health, or other relevant discipline
  • Demonstrates and always maintains a positive attitude with internal and external team members across the federated organizations and other stakeholders.
  • Maintains a high level of accuracy and quality.
  • Takes appropriate initiative, being both proactive and assertive.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a timely manner, turning concept into reality.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in analytics; health care policy analytics preferred
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with others, verbally and in writing, in an informative and non-technical manner.
  • Experience with database management and data visualization software (e.g. SQL, SAS, PowerBI, Tableau, SmartSheet).
  • Demonstrates the ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials in a professional manner.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to CHA members and One Team colleagues.
  • Explores and follows through on ways to improve process and efficiencies.
  • Strong collaborative skills and resourcefulness to make the best use of available resources and data assets.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office software programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
