I lead data.ai’s global hybrid-remote 150+ person Engineering team focusing on building premium data platforms and cutting-edge AI applications that deliver quality products our customers love, with pride and velocity.

This is a global leadership role, reporting to the SVP of Engineering, within a global organization.

• Drive key initiatives for the core engineering team including significant upgrades of the platform infrastructure and technology stack to ensure data.ai can meet future customer expectations
• Work collaboratively with other executive team leaders across data.ai leading a culture of open communication and active collaboration. Participate in formulating and driving strategic objectives for data.ai at the Executive Leadership level and translate this for the engineering teams ensuring they understand the vision and objectives of the company
• Be agile and adept with strategic ideas about incorporating this fast-changing technology domain into the core of our systems
• Lead the global engineering team with a high bar for excellence and quality with an ability to raise that bar in the Engineering organization, ensuring data.ai continues to be the currency for mobile & digital surfaces of engagement performance for Fortune 1000 enterprises
• As a player-coach, lead a positive culture within a high performing, distributed international team
• Lead Engineering in thinking through the technology requirements in terms of architecture, future scale, and customer needs eliminating unnecessary complexity and keeping execution on track
• Continuous innovation in the core data platform technology layer from heterogeneous systems to a coherent environment that supports enriched descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive applications across massive data sets
• Recruit, develop, and retain an exceptional Engineering team
• As a key member with input at the leadership level, lead the Product & Technology Group engineering execution of our strategy
• Work in close partnership with the Product and Data Science team to ensure that Engineering delivers against the product roadmap meeting agreed milestones, shipping products on time, and anticipating future technology direction
• Ensure the teams are working in concert with clear priorities across multiple geographies and a well-articulated technology vision of future direction to support the company vision

• Substantial experience with cloud-based infrastructures and big data environments - experience with Snowflake would be ideal
• Proven track record of leading Engineering in close collaboration with Product and Data Science to ensure the product is delivered as part of an agile process, on time, and at a level that exceeds customer expectations

• Experienced at scaling, retaining, and mentoring high-performing engineering teams and at creating opportunities for high performers to progress in their careers
• Proven experience managing a sophisticated B2B product suite across multiple segments (verticals + international)

Qualifications That We Seek

• Knowledge of high-performance system architecture, data warehouses/lake house, and algorithms prevalent in AI/ML are strongly desired
• At least 15 years of experience in building large-scale platforms with a focus on performance, scalability, and driving Systems of Intelligence applications either in fast-growing startups or large enterprises
• Domain depth in marketing automation, computational advertising, multi-tenant SaaS and global mobile technology platforms would be ideal to hit the ground running
• Understanding of the current cloud-based technology stack with the ability to creatively leverage services driving toward cost-efficient and performant applications
• Mathematical sophistication, intellectual curiosity, and opinionated understanding of AI and Machine Learning would be strongly preferred
• Creative problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills - verbal and written are required
• 10+ years of experience in building and managing teams in a senior engineering leadership role
• Undergraduate degree from a reputed university in the fields of Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other pure sciences disciplines. A master's or Ph.D. are highly desired

Compensation
$250,000 - $320,000 (base salary)
Non-Quota: We also provide an annual bonus based on individual and company performance
Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skill set, location, and balancing internal equity relative to other data.ai employees. Candidates offered roles will be in the range based on these factors.
