Location: West Coast US (PST) highly preferred - fully remote


Compensation: $260-280k base salary + significant equity

THE OPPORTUNITY


RentSpree is at the forefront of revolutionizing the residential rental industry. As we scale our global team and operations across Los Angeles and Bangkok, we're searching for our first Vice President of People. Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of People will partner closely with our CEO, HR Directors, and other executives in both countries to develop and implement comprehensive people strategies that align with our business goals and uphold our unique culture.

This role is integral to shaping our international team, nurturing an empowering and innovative culture, and aligning people strategies with our ambitious mission and objectives. Key Responsibilities


  • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive people strategies that align with RentSpree's mission, vision, and overall business objectives
  • Oversee all HR operations across both locations, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee development, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations in the U.S. and Thailand
  • Foster a culture of freedom and responsibility, empowering team members to take the initiative and be accountable for their decisions
  • Provide guidance and support to HR Directors in Los Angeles and Bangkok on HR-related matters, promoting effective leadership throughout the organization
  • Create best practices through a data-driven process
  • Encourage radical honesty and transparency across all levels of the organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning
  • Draft and implement the organization's staffing and People departments' budgets
  • Prioritize attracting and retaining top-tier talent and creating an environment where high performers can thrive
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS


  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources or People Operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR best practices and employment law in the U.S., with a willingness to learn HR practices and regulations in Thailand
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Willing and able to travel to our Bangkok, Thailand office twice per year
  • Ability to maintain flexible work hours (i.e., early evenings) to coordinate effectively with teams in Thailand. Our ideal candidate is located on the US West Coast (PST)
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels of an organization across different cultures and time zones
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrable experience scaling HR operations in a fast-paced startup
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in English
  • Strategic thinking skills, with the ability to balance day-to-day operational tasks with long-term strategic goals
