SUMMARY ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Vice President (VP) Sales Campari America is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the US Sales organization, ensuring delivery of the Group’s growth and margin accretion goals. The VP sets the direction of the sales organization and executes planning, distributor programming and operations to meet budget goals.
The VP establishes strong relationships with senior distributor management while leading and developing effective top-to-top relationships in key accounts to drive net sales, markets share gains and profitable growth.
Compensation: The expected base salary for this position ranges from $370,000 - $425,500. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
GENERAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership:
  • Attract world class and diverse talent
  • Manage the performance of Sales Lead Team, building a strong bench of future executives
  • Core member of the Campari America Executive Team, contributing to the overall strategy, culture, and leadership, as well as coaching and mentoring across functions.
  • Build capabilities within the sales team, ensuring appropriate annual performance and development plans are in place.
  • Execution of integrated plans that achieve the company’s strategic goals
  • Build a sales organization that aligns with the current and future needs of the organization
Planning & Forecasting:
  • Monitor market conditions to proactively mitigate issues plus capitalize on growth opportunities
  • Planning and managing new product launches and innovation
  • Monitor plan to performance and develop contingency and gap closing alternatives as needed
  • Drive programming, sales operations, forecasting and Perfect Store execution to meet target net sales and profit goals for the US
  • Creates the annual sales depletion plan to achieve annual budget objectives
Financial & Execution
  • Establish and maintain monitoring of deferred discount and/or distributor banks
  • Execute pricing strategies to ensure pricing structures are in place to optimize Campari profitability, manage Distributor margin and maintain brand positioning integrity
  • Drive distributor performance to plan, proactively identifying gaps or slippages and implement corrective action plans as needed
  • Manage brand deferred discount levels and budgets to achieve operational leverage
  • Monitors spend and adjust as needed to achieve appropriate profitability for the BU
  • Provide operating financial parameters to team and monitor to ensure compliance
  • Manage new product introductions to ensure on target shipments and depletions. Actively coordinate with Brand Management and CCM to optimize programs for successful in market launch plans.
Key Account Management:
  • Set and manage annual plans to drive volume and share growth (both on and off premise)
  • Establish quality top-to-top relationships with the top key accounts
  • Direct touch points within the sales team to ensure best in class supplier relationship with strategic accounts
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience
  • Advanced degree a plus
  • Education
  • Experience in managing a large team
  • Budget & pricing responsibilities
  • College/university degree with a focus in Business Administration preferred
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of related US sales experience in progressively responsible roles
  • Strong understanding of the alcohol beverage category preferred but not essential
  • Sound understanding of business financials, scenario planning and budget management
  • Knowledge/Skills
  • Functional:
  • Proven ability to successfully manage a growing business through multiple Distributor points of contact
  • Ability to develop compelling selling stories to grow distribution and volume sales
  • Technical:
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Experience in the utilization of pricing, forecasting and other Sales tracking and monitoring tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and experience in working with a multi-brand portfolio.
  • Experience in establishing clear roles & responsibilities, motivating and energizing the team around a commons set of objectives to deliver strong results
