What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate we’re looking for is primarily responsible for Technical Solutions Engineering, support, and ensuring network designs and solutions are being met and delivered in a consistent manner to both partners and customers.
Reporting to the Director of Network Engineering, the Technical Solutions Engineer will be an integral member of the Engineering team while working with partners and/or customers ultimately assisting in the generation of revenue by implementing Acumera’s high-value products and services, getting customers to see the value of Acumera solutions, and helping them to be successful. This is accomplished by providing technical assistance and consultation, working through proof-of-concept projects, and other areas as needed within the Technical Solutions Engineer role.

What You Will Be Doing
- Build and design robust, enterprise networks to help facilitate security, standardization, and ease of deployment in the partner’s or client’s environment.
- Configure, install, and support network equipment including Acumera’s Edge Security device, SD-WAN, proxy servers, switches, DNS, DHCP, and the like.
- Assist users to achieve optimum use of their networks by performing needs analysis, procurement support, installation, training, and problem resolution for partners and clients.
- Support and enhance the company-to-client relationship by providing technical advice and assistance.
- Take ownership and complete projects from end-to-end.
- Create and execute changes to the network using industry standard change control practices.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Work with Technical Engineers or other Technical Advisors as required and ensure any solution within their specific specialism fits with strategic and technical direction.
- Consider a broad range of options and apply sound judgment to develop solutions within the partner’s or clients requirements.
- Work closely with all Acumera teams to display continuous service and support to partners and customers.
- Provide design advice and technical guidance to customers relating to custom applications based on Acumera products and services.
- Collaborate with customers and internal sales team members to assess customer needs and product fit.
- Convey the value proposition of Acumera products and services to partners and clients.
What You Already Have
- Able to demonstrate products remotely, using both telephone and/or the internet
- Enjoy finding solutions for complex problems
- Resourceful, self-sufficient, and can perform necessary tasks with minimal supervision
- Speak, read and write English fluently.
- Dynamic and confident
- Strong communication skills to develop relationships within the organization and with vendors
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work with multiple audiences and levels with both internal and external organizations are required
- Passion for customer success
Education & Experience
- 2-3 years experience in headquarters IT, Convenience Store IT, Restaurant IT, and/or Retail IT, required
- Associate of Science in Information Technology or related field preferred or,
Physical Demands & Expected Hours of Work
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Days and hours of work are normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m Central. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties and client demand dictates.
- This may either be an onsite or remote, full-time, position and based out of our Austin, TX Office.
- Occasional overtime may be required depending on projects.
Supervisory Responsibility
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Travel
This position may require up to 25-33% travel. Frequently, travel is outside the local area and overnight.

- SD-WAN Technologies
- Network Security
- TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, DHCP, Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing, switching, subnetting.
- VPNs
- LAN/WAN/WLAN.
- Cloud and On-Prem Network Infrastructure architectures.
- Firewalls, Routers, Switches, WAPs, and other network equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of reliability, scalability and availability of network services.
- Enterprise VoIP systems. On-Prem Contact Center and Cloud Offerings (CCaaS)
- Experience with Windows Server, Linux and MAC OS, Citrix environment, File and Print Servers, AD, Group Policy, DNS, Microsoft O365,
- Understanding of network troubleshooting, logging and proactive network maintenance.
- Ability to design, configure and troubleshoot enterprise level network connectivity.
