As a Systems Engineer III for JPL's Autonomous Systems Division's Flight Electronics Section which crafted the electronics for the latest Mars rover and helicopter (Perseverance & Ingenuity). You will be joining the Avionics Hardware System Architecture and Engineering Group.
Tasks may include but not limited to:
- Analyze and model the design for Command and Data Handling and High Speed Compute Elements modules, Motor Controllers, etc. using MATLAB or other analytical tools
- Contribute to system risk management and system change processes at JPL
- Avionics System Architectures including but not limited to Command and Data Handling and High Speed Compute Elements modules, Motor Controllers
- Electronics systems validation and verification
- Close collaboration with Cognizant Engineers, Design Engineers and I&T Engineers throughout the product design, I&T and delivery lifecycle
- Avionics subsystems Requirements for Command and Data Handling and High Speed Compute Elements modules, Motor Controllers
- Develop and maintain
- Avionics System Architectures including but not limited to Command and Data Handling and High Speed Compute Elements modules, Motor Controllers
- Avionics subsystems Requirements for Command and Data Handling and High Speed Compute Elements modules, Motor Controllers
- Electronics Interfaces such as 1553, CAN, SpaceWire, LVDS, USB, RS422/485

Required Skillset:
- 2+ years of experience developing and delivering Avionics system documentation (requirements, functional description documents, test plans, and test reports)
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Electrical or Computer Engineering or related technical subject area and 6+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree in similar disciplines and 4+ years of experience, or Ph.D. in similar disciplines and 2+ years of experience
- 2+ years of experience specifying or designing or testing Command and Data Handling and High Speed Compute Elements modules or Motor Controllers

The hiring range displayed below is specifically for those who will work in or reside in the location listed. In extending an offer, Jet Propulsion Laboratory considers factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s job related skills, experience, knowledge, and relevant education/training. Hiring range for this job may be adjusted based on primary work location outside of Pasadena, California. This adjusted range will be provided to candidates by the Recruiter when applicable.
