Position Summary

The Strategic Operations Manager (SOM) is an individual contributor role with unparalleled insight into how the Company operates. The SOM will drive initiatives and manage a constantly changing portfolio of projects that require attention to detail and flawless execution. The right candidate is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast paced and high pressure environment. Due to the privileged position of this role, the SOM must be able to establish and maintain credibility as a trusted partner. You will possess strong leadership qualities, a high degree of initiative, and be detail-oriented, organized, and analytical.

Responsibilities

• Operational Ninja: Other projects and duties as assigned.
• Business Operations: Analyze operational processes and systems. Document findings, prepare reports, and recommend improvements. Implement new processes and procedures collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement changes and solutions. Investigate technology solutions for key business processes. Evaluate the effectiveness of new processes / changes.
• Communication: Prepare communications such as emails, messages, memos, briefs and posts on a variety of different subjects.
• HR Operations: Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of employees. Assist in the execution of quarterly pulse surveys and annual employee engagement surveys.
• Analysis: Research, retrieve, synthesize, model and analyze data to drive and/or support decision-making.
• Project Management: Research, develop, and lead cross-functionally to deliver special projects and strategic business initiatives.
• Customer Operations: Develop Customer LifeCycle Management documentation to illustrate how the customer is tracked and supported by Alethea through their contract lifecycle. Support the contract execution process, tracking all clients contracts through generation to execution and renewal.
• Presentations: Prepare presentations and written memos on a wide range of topics ranging from company presentations to specific topical issues.
• Vendor Management: Track and manage vendor contract expirations and renewals.

Skills & Experience

• Project Management: Proven experience managing multiple projects and priorities concurrently
• Education: Degree in business or related field from outstanding college or university
• Experience: 5+ years in an investment banking or consulting role
• Communication: Outstanding communication skills in both written and verbal form.
• EQ: High EQ with ability to anticipate needs and proactively work toward solutions.
• Integrity: Unquestionable integrity and proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Research & Analysis: Demonstrated ability to research topics, synthesize information; and produce recommendations under pressure and tight deadlines. Ability to use spreadsheets to analyze data to solve problems.
• Curiosity and Drive: Independent thinker with an insatiable curiosity and unstoppable drive to succeed.
• Growth Mindset: Flexible attitude with a growth mindset and the ability to rapidly action feedback. Comfortable with a fast-paced start-up environment that involves regular iteration.

Compensation and Benefits

• Healthcare at the gold-tier level, dental, and vision is fully funded by the employer. 50% of dependent coverage is provided by the employer.
• Unlimited vacation, sick leave, including office closure between Christmas and New Year’s, and extended holidays at Thanksgiving and the 4th of July.
• Employer sponsored 401k with a 3% match.
• Salary and stock options are negotiated based on experience.
• Hybrid work environment, with 2-3 days per week required in office in Washington, D.C or New York.
