Job description
The Business Operations Manager, Product Strategy, will provide support around high level business planning, program management and operations for key strategic initiatives and businesses within Ontada’s commercial organization. The candidate will work closely with the Director of New Product Strategy and Business Operations, various business unit and product leaders to drive strategic initiatives and business operations throughout the commercial organization, including leading the development, tracking, reporting and managing of key operational, product, financial and non-financial performance metrics and results.
What You’ll Do:
- Identify and assess opportunities for growth and process improvement
- Provide operational support across GTM functions
- Conduct adhoc analysis to support projects and strategic needs of the business
- Build and maintain the Ontada commercial dashboard to track product and commercial metrics, setting a cadence for the consumption of reports by the commercial leadership team
- Analyze, track and help manage important company metrics such as product/commercial against goals to assess business performance while creating operational performance
- Lead strategic initiatives centered around RWE/RWD/Clinical Trials, from identification through to launch and product life cycle management
- Coordinate with business leads and key stakeholders to develop process maps, coordinate program management, capability enhancements and product/project prioritization
How you will spend Majority of your day :
Programs Management: 40%
- Coordinate with product and commercial teams to assure communication of capabilities and deployment schedules aligned with strategic objectives, resource budgets (including personnel and capital), timelines and business value delivery.
- Establish systematic procedures for evaluating performance of different initiatives against expected costs and benefits.
- Set success metrics for the overall program
- Provide comprehensive business planning support to analyze feasibility and desirability of potential strategic initiatives and provide management support in the planning, development, and implementation of those initiatives.
- Enable coordination amongst various projects and workstreams; ensure workstreams are progressing as planned and tracking against project goals
Business Operations and Analyses: 60%
- Work with commercial business leadership to deliver, monitor and communicate progress on existing high-profile programs and projects
- Collaborate with Director of New Product Strategy and Business Operations and business leaders to track, analyze, manage and report performance per KPIs, project goals, and change initiatives, as needed.
- Proactively address pressing business issues that need immediate attention and provide objective, informed, unbiased insight to help improve overall governance operational, organizational, and financial metrics
- Analyze and report performance based on strategic initiatives and business goals and recommend areas needing improvement. Implement tools and measurement systems to drive the adoption of business practices.
- Help drive a cohesive approach aligning commercial strategy to change management activities including communications planning, training and stakeholder management.
- Develop well defined metrics that align to the Ontada business goals and objectives, and manage, maintain and report on delivery against these results.
What you will Need
- Self-starter with strong collaboration and project management skills to achieve business goals
- Strong communication and presentation skills including deck creation/storytelling
- 4-year Bachelors’ degree in business or finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in health tech or data business a strong plus
- 5 years of work experience. 2yrs Management Consulting, Investment banking, Big Tech or similar experience in a Strategy & Operations role
- Experience in big pharma clinical development operations or big pharma operations consulting preferred
- Expert skills in excel preferred, particularly with pivot tables, advanced functions and developing business dashboards
- Proven quantitative and data driven problem solving skills able to break down a problem into solutions

- Strong decision-making ability and the ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of all assigned duties, and in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Creative problem solver with proven results in improving processes in a business operation and/or sales environment.

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work accordingly to meet stringent deadlines.
