Position: Strategic Account Manager

Location & work modality: North America, remote

Start: ASAP

Type of Contract: Full Time / Permanent

Travel Requirements: Approximately 40%; domestic and international

All resulting in lower electricity costs and a more environmentally friendly operation with the overall energy consumption of the data center significantly reduced.

We’re scaling our team and operations at our Headquarters in Barcelona and at Worldwide locations, all to meet growing international demand.


About the Role and the Candidate:

You have a great ability to engage other leaders and the team cross-functionally while leading customer sales engagements, all with the aim of increasing the number of projects where Submer can help our customers who embrace our vision.


A Day in the Life:

  • Experience creating Strategic Account Plans and/or use of 'Gold Sheets' as part of standard work procedure.
  • Align cross functional resources to provide comprehensive solutions, based on the entire product and services portfolio.
  • Ensure alignment of strategy and collaboration between the customer and Submer to build an effective alliance, based around a multi-year plan to increase business and value delivered.
  • Pursues highest propensity prospects with no current revenue and fills the funnel with opportunities.
  • Focus on moving up the value chain at strategic accounts and developing peer-to-peer relationships across functions.
  • Act as the customer voice within Submer to influence strategy and product portfolio.
  • Understand the immersion cooling industry and market trends, as well as readily assimilate technical knowledge and translate into business opportunities.
  • Partners with Submer stakeholders to strategize and lead sales opportunity qualification.
  • Maintain and develop strategic relationships, enhancing corporate relationships and business with prioritized clients. Including business reviews and an alignment cadence.


Candidate Specific Competences

To perform in this job, you’ll likely have:

  • Excellent communication, influence, teamwork, presentation, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Capability to express technical and non-technical concepts and solutions clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to articulate a strong value proposition at both the executive level and at the engineering level.
  • Data Center industry experience, large client network with key stakeholders at any of the following: Microsoft, Meta, AWS, Google, Apple, and Oracle
  • Understanding of Data Center Infrastructure
  • 8 – 12 years relevant experience in tech/telecom sales specifically selling to the Hyperscaler market.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with Submer’s core values: sustainability, uniqueness, make sense, empathy, and reliability.
  • BA/BS in Business, Management, Computer Science, or Engineering fields
  • In addition to the must-haves above, we would really like to hear from you if you have:
  • Consistent and proven track record of exceeding quota while maintaining customer loyalty and profitability.
  • Ability to influence others in the organization with no direct reporting relationship with demonstrated experience in global matrix organizations.
  • Understanding of Data Center Cooling
  • Knowledge of data center design, engineering, and operations of common infrastructure.
  • Experience selling large projects within Fortune 100 accounts
  • Services Experience
