Content Writer [North-America] Jobs

State of Digital Publishing (SODP) is looking for a remote freelance content writer with experience creating articles for B2B and B2C clients to work as a freelance contractor.

You will use your research, writing, and editing skills to produce expert-level articles on assigned topics within the tech, SaaS, and digital publishing landscape. You’ll help us and our clients achieve our growth goals by creating content that connects with target audiences and drives traffic to our sites.

SODP is a start-up market research publisher focused on building a community for digital media publishing professionals and content and media owners.

Our vision is to discover and foster sustainable digital media publishing models, and to do that, we’ve made it our mission to build a community that practically supports its members and which is built on a foundation of educational content and research.

We’re based in Sydney, Australia, and are lucky to be supported by team members from around the globe.

Out of transparency, based on the abovementioned experience, we are compensating between 0.06 - 0.12 USD/word.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Stay on trend with new insights for techniques to share and enhance best practices
• Ensure content is factually correct and respects the subject matter’s technical complexities
• Make intuitive and data-driven decisions to leverage content and achieve client goals
• Perform and deliver under tight deadlines
• Update previously published content to improve its relevance
• Create engaging content for a variety of different clients
• Edit or rewrite existing content to meet the editorial team's expectations

EXPERIENCE & CAPABILITIES

• Fluent in the English language
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work with minimal supervision in a collaborative and positive team environment
• Good understanding of organic search and search engine marketing
• Must have a portfolio of well-written, engaging and relevant content
• Minimum one year of proven B2B writing/editing experience — must be comfortable in tech, SaaS and digital marketing industries
• A self-starter with the ability to create content quickly
