In this role, you will collaborate with team members in setting negotiation strategies and supply strategies, and in engaging in negotiations with suppliers. You will perform data analytics and use that data to inform decision making. You will analyze quotations from suppliers to perform cost analysis to support team decision on new product introductions as well as ongoing negotiations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Successful candidates for this position will have a passion for negotiation
  • Process Purchase Orders and update requestors on the status of orders
  • Good analytical skills
  • Assist Analysis of changing market conditions - gather information for benchmarking
  • Assist in communicating with and negotiating with suppliers
  • Assist in executing competitive bids and other sourcing projects
  • The ability to multitask
  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Build relationship with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Support periodic key stakeholder meetings to review commodity strategy and activities by preparing materials as assigned
  • Good judgement
  • Perform detailed analysis of spend and other data to identify savings, define efficiency opportunities, and tactical and strategic initiatives that should be undertaken
  • Provide multi-category support as assigned
  • Coordinate with inventory team, management and stockroom as required
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years in a buyer/purchasing role
  • Functional skills: Analytical, highly attentive to detail, data management, able to learn best practices and principles
  • Education: Bachelors degree in supply chain management,finance, economics or a related field
  • Technical Skills: Microsoft Office required. SAP system knowledge required.
