Operations Assistant (Purchasing / Buyer Assistant)The position of the Operations Analyst was established for the purpose of providing support to our operations department and the buyer teams of our clients (our clients are retailers throughout Latin America). The position duties also include processing of orders, traveling to trade shows, verification of purchasing documents, serve as the contact person between the buyer departments of our associated buying teams and our network of suppliers/vendors; and translation of product labels. Duties and responsibilities of this position are more in line with that of a purchasing assistant or buyer assistant.Education and Skills Required:High School DiplomaKnowledge of logistics/purchasing/freight forwarding is preferable (however, training would be provided).Preparation of basic Microsoft SpreadsheetsMust be motivated, self-starter.Must multi-task and be able to communicate and write emails in English and Spanish.Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Must have Customer Service SkillsDuties:-Responsible for processing orders and follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders.-Serve as point of contact to buyers (and import departments) of our clients and suppliers/vendors.-Create purchase orders, sales orders, exchanges, etc.-Responsible for daily follow up of work order status to ensure all orders are processed in a timely manner.-Apply for credit with vendors and suppliers.-Help negotiate best price for products and services.-Maintain strong working relationships with our vendors-Review purchasing agreements with vendors and maintain open lines of communications with those vendors-Update internal database with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)possible deal.-Must be computer savvy and have good knowledge of Microsoft Office.-Translation of product material translation (from English to Spanish)-Provide research prospective suppliers/vendors-Other duties as assigned.Monday through FridayJob schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PMPayrate $18Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $18.00 per hourBenefits: Health insurance Schedule: 8 hour shiftDay shift Work Location: In person
