Job Summary:

The Sr Manager Culture & Communications (C&S) Strategic Planning helps Southwest deliver on our Purpose by unifying the Culture & Communications functions. This Leader is a champion of strategic planning, integrated delivery, alignment with the enterprise, and cultivating a high-performing organization. They’ll build and maintain the C&C strategic plan and roadmap, as well as manage the operations of the C&C agenda, planning & governance, initiative assessment and delivery, and communications. This role works closely with internal Customers and key partners to help lead C&C programs that support our strategic objectives and help to pilot the future of Southwest Airlines.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. Responsibilities
- Provide program management support to ensure that initiatives are defined, executed and measured in alignment with department strategic objective
- Partner with FP&A, Corp. Planning, Technology, Officers, Enterprise Leadership, PLD and PCLM to deliver MYP and AOP
- Work closely with the department’s key third party agencies in developing and executing a holistic plan for Culture & Communications
- Provide project management around key strategic priorities for Culture & Communications
- Support department cross-functionally through times of Reputation, Brand, Culture, or Employee crisis
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
- Establish and maintain a Culture & Communications (C&C) multi-year strategic plan that contains the goals, targets, strategies, initiatives and the roadmap of all activities
- Support highly effective communication strategies and messaging sent on SVP of Culture & Communication’s behalf
- Lead and mobilize Culture & Communications Teams to assess opportunities, make recommendations, and deliver results in alignment with department strategic objectives, allowing the ability to anticipate problems and proactively advise SVP appropriately
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer and personal service including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer satisfaction
- Ability to communicate effectively, including driving communications strategies with all levels of Employees up to and including executive levels (written, oral, interpersonal)
- Ability to proactively communicate with Stakeholders, Sponsors and Project Teams to ensure project delivery
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs and be able to translate needs into solutions; assists in evaluating options and alternatives to ensure business needs are met, while driving the adoption of best practices
- Ability to build partnerships to collaborate and uses influence without authority to gather Customer and business requirements and communicate effectively with all project Teams and support groups
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, communications, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Knowledge in defining complex project plans including scope, budgets, and schedule
- Ability to represent SVP when they are unable to be present
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
- Managing projects in a transformative environment, ability to organize information and communicate effectively
- Strategy, planning, business case development, and project management
- Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s) in communications, employee engagement, or related function
- Preferred: Experience in communication strategy
- Preferred: Experience in measurement tools, Qualtrics, and/or Tableau
- Preferred: Experience with Quickbase
Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $151,400-$168,200 per year * depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the
discretion of the company.
