Sr. Process Engineer, Body In White Model Y

The Role:

The Body-in-White Process Engineer will be responsible for sustaining and redesigning mechanical portions of the body center. This would include re-designing mechanical aspects of fixtures and tooling. Hands-on Engineer working closely with design engineering, quality, production, and line builders to take vehicle design changes and new vehicle designs from initial concepts through prototype and full production.

Responsibilities:

• Develop GD&T strategy to support vehicle quality build targets and drive tooling design
• You will analyze, design, and optimize new production processes to ensure safety while maximizing yield, capacity, and cost effectiveness to enable the build of world-class vehicles
• Support the transition of a product from concept to pilot line production and into mass manufacturing
• You will develop and modify existing line layouts, processes, and fixtures to improve material flow, waste reduction, safety, and ergonomics by utilizing Lean Manufacturing best practices
• Define a project’s scope, manage spend against the budget, coordinate with outside vendors, and oversee the installation of new equipment to ensure all requirements are met
