Job brief
The Sr. Director of Supply Chain Management will report directly to the CEO and is responsible for management of ART’s food supply chain and inventory. The main role of this position is to directly manage the entire supply chain process, including ordering, re-packaging, and distribution of our products as they move through our food handling facilities. This requires someone who has vast knowledge of logistics and distribution throughout the supply chain. ART is looking for a candidate who can handle managing operations for multiple facilities, utilize sales data for order placement to minimize waste as much as possible, and ensure that all food safety and operation SOP’s are being met. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in food supply chain management and possess excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Attend staff and management meetings and other administrative meetings as appropriate; prepare reports as requested.
- Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and develop action plans.
- Oversee facility supervisors to ensure they are maintaining compliance with USDA Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) at each facility.
- Maintain timeline of any permits, certifications, or license renewals and ensure they are submitted prior to expiry date.
- Coordinating shipping pickup and delivery to and from our facility on a regular basis and ensuring shipments are prepared on schedule and develop and maintain relationships with logistics providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation of products.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality of products and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop forecasts and inventory plans that meet customer demand while minimizing inventory levels and costs.
- Performs management functions of staff selection, compensation, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations.
- Champion efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementation of changes as they pertain to areas of responsibility and total company.
- Manage distribution of food products to our vending partners and other program recipients so that an adequate supply of necessary food products is maintained and allocated accurately.
- Supervise and maintain inventory control records, maintenance and sanitation records, and employee training records in compliance with ART’s policies and procedures as well as governmental requirements and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a closely related field required or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Food Manager Certification preferred but not required.
- Prefer prior experience working with food service distributors (Sysco, DOT, PFG etc.)
- 7 years of Operations management experience with demonstrated progressive levels of management experience.

- Demonstrates skill in making independent decisions in support of company policies and procedures in a timely manner.
- Ability to successfully engage and lead individual and team discussions and meetings.
- To be successful in this position, the individual performing the duties must successfully demonstrate all director-level leadership framework competencies.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent analytic skills; demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software.
- Experience managing complex supply chains with multiple suppliers and vendors.
- Proficient in supply chain management software and tools.
