We are looking for a Director, Supply Chain with a track record of coming into new organizations and winning the respect and admiration of the workforce in materials and manufacturing. Position Summary
This position reports to the President and will direct the development and implementations of all activities in planning, supplier performance, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, internal material delivery, and logistics to safely achieve production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
The Director will also have direct control in establishing and implementing clear strategic and tactical sourcing and strategies for Chris Craft branded products that are aligned with Chris Craft’s business needs to help ensure competitive advantage for our supply base.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The Director of Supply Chain will also support all sourcing and planning activities tied to the growth and execution of Chris Craft products. The Director will understand and manage risks associated with the external supply chain and develop processes and strategies to provide the highest service levels possible for material availability to Chris Craft manufacturing operations, while ensuring inventory levels are aligned with business needs and costs are under control.
  • Category & Supplier Strategies
  • Facilitates/liaises between products and supply base on technology trends.
  • Inventory Turns / DOH
  • Accountable for all strategies, processes and controls related to:
  • Generates monthly reports and presents to senior management team the material impacts to business.
  • Inventory Management Practices and Performance (Raw, WIP, FG)
  • Perpetual inventory accuracy
  • Identification of and collaboration on projects related to:
  • Collaborative sourcing with Engineering for New Product Development
  • Supervisory responsibility related to:
  • PPV / Material cost productivity
  • Following sourcing best practices & achieving NPD targets
  • Tactical Purchasing Practices
  • Sourcing both Direct and Indirect Materials and Services
  • Own strategic relationships with strategic partners
  • Responsibility for managing the team including performance, coaching, development, disciplinary action, etc.
  • Procurement
  • Lead Supply Chain due diligence process
  • Responsibility to ensure safe work assignments, workspaces, properly functioning tools, equipment, and understand safety procedures. Leaders are expected to correct identified hazards (where and when applicable), assist and/or investigate the causes of incidents, and take action to prevent similar incidents from happening. Discuss safety information and requirements in team huddles and during performance reviews with all employees.
  • Leadership of the Supply Chain teams including purchasing, warehouse, and logistics.

  • Transportation (Inbound, Outbound, Material Handling, Warehousing

  • Creates commodity risk profiles and impact analysis (e.g., tariff surcharges)
Critical Competencies
The Director of Supply Chain should possess strong leadership experience, as well as a track-record of continuous improvement and transformational successes. He/she will have a strong background in managing overall supply chain systems utilizing the latest advances in technology and lean processes to transform an organization and address business problems.
  • Strong financial business acumen with ability to tie operational actions to financial and business results and objectives
  • Strong understanding of inventory control practices and principles
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Action oriented, self-starter who can delegate and be hands-on as situations deem appropriate
  • Proficient in ERP business systems and barcoding practices
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with internal and external colleagues
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Able to assess and quantify supply chain risks and develop mitigating strategies
  • Ability to develop and execute overall supply chain strategies that are competitive and best-in-class
  • Strong understanding of Lean fundamentals
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence / motivate teams
Required Education and Experience
  • Lean certification preferred
  • 5 years of durable goods manufacturing experience required
  • Willingness to travel (10-15%)
  • Previous budget management responsibility
  • 15 years+ supply chain management experience
  • Experience leading complex projects and leading teams required
  • CPIM and/or CSCP preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or related field
