About this Role

The Director of Procurement will be responsible for the management of all procurement functions for the plant up to and including raw materials, packaging, transportation, co-manufacture finished goods, ingredients, and supplies. In addition to managing inventory, financial governance, and procurement process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Development and evaluation of procurement team.

-Implementation of strategic sourcing, training, and development of procurement staff.

• Creation and implementation of vendor selection process

-Price negotiation.

-Supplier approval in conjunction with other departments as required.

-Implementation of supply chain best practices with vendors.

• Management of transportation.

-Truck and Ocean freight pricing and logistics.

• Organization and management of excess seafood commodity inventory and sales
• Manage communication as it relates to pricing, timing of deliveries, specification requirements, and vendor expectations.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategy for key categories.

-Vendor selection and development, category management, team building, and establish a sound financial reporting process.

• Manage supplier performance through score carding.

-Ontime and in full material delivery, quality and specification adherence, price management, sustainability, and supplier diversity as required.

• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Create and deliver market data on all relevant categories including historical price, current and forward price data to present to leadership on monthly cadence.
• Perform responsibilities and duties as assigned by Senior Leadership.

Education & Experience

Minimum BS/BA degree or higher

Commodity experience preferred including protein/seafood

Proficient in MS Office

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Minimum of 5-10 years of Direct Procurement experience

Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing and developing a team
