The opportunity
Under general supervision, this role directs the staff and activities supporting the production planning and inventory control (PPIC) processes for all planning functions in Generic Pharmaceutical environment. Holds overall responsibility for Production Planning, Inventory control and data analytics including capacity constraints and business needs. Assesses and implements ERP complex techniques needed to: plan, schedule, control measures and evaluate the effectiveness of production operations.

• Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
• Oversees the development and ongoing maintenance of Commercial Generics and Brand R&D master production schedule. Manages the continual evaluation of scheduling priorities to support demand fluctuations.
• Coordinates with Marketing to resolve forecasting and delivery issues, with Buyers and Planners to determine product and materials mix, and with manufacturing and packaging to determine materials requirements for meeting production schedules.
• Responsible for maintaining inter-company relationships with marketing partners.
• Reviews and approves supply related sections of all third-party Supply Agreements for the site.
• Oversees, directs and prioritizes all products ensuring forecasts and Purchase Orders are received and processed in a timely manner.
• Responsible for site ERP system use and integrity.
• Maintains/monitors all system access to ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance is maintained. Assures appropriate use and timely entry is maintained.
• Determines action plans and manages the resolution of critical issues involving the procurement, scheduling, and testing of materials to support efficient product delivery.
• Oversees the development of department budget; analyzes and monitors budgets to assure the department operates within the agreed parameters.
• Manages subordinates, including hiring employees, preparing work schedules, assigning and reviewing work, training, performance appraisals and counseling.
• Assures compliance with all SOP and cGMP requirements, and Company policies and practices, including safety rules and regulations.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
Your experience and qualifications
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.
• Production planning and inventory control principles, processes and methods.
• Pharmaceutical manufacturing principles and practices, and market conditions affecting industry suppliers.
• Current Company and OSHA policies, practices and procedures, and regulations.
• Management, leadership and training methods and procedures
• Capacity Planning processes and understanding of how to work through both over and under capacity scenarios
• Inventory Level management, including but not limited to safety stock setting and backorder/backlog management.
• SAP ECC and APO experience
• Organized and detail oriented with strong follow through skills. Ensures that issues that arise are fully resolved and information populated within the system is as accurate as possible.
• Implementing goals, objectives and practices as defined by management for effective, efficient and cost effective management of allocated resources.
• Analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, recommending and implementing solutions.
• Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
• Responding to common inquiries and problems from internal customers and department personnel.
• Report preparation and presentation.
• Ability to work on a team or independently with minimal supervision.
• Complying with department SOP guidelines.
• Effectively and professionally communicating with all levels of personnel.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office skills, including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
