THE OPPORTUNITY
The Sr. Benefits and Compliance Program Manager role will be key to creating innovative, sustainable policies that will guide Truss to stay current with evolving business. You’ll work collaboratively with Truss leadership to implement People and Culture initiatives while communicating change management to the wider organization. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in compliance and benefits, along with a willingness to embrace innovation, explore new approaches, and adapt to diverse methodologies within Truss. They will be joining a cross-functional People & Culture team that focuses on implementing best practices to deliver the best employee experience to the organization.

This is a fully remote opportunity with occasional travel and reports to the VP of People.

The salary range for this position is $126,000 to $164,000.

The Sr. Benefits and Compliance Program Manager will be responsible for delivering successful outcomes in three key areas:

Truss’s compliance requirements are proactively managed and areas of risk are resolved for mitigation.

  • Partners with our government compliance consultant to research 8(a) graduation requirement; proposes and builds timeline for necessary changes or implementationsCompliance audits are performed for quality assurance and continuous improvement
  • Truss remains current on changing state and federal compliance and HR policy changes, and necessary updates, education, and process changes are implemented
  • Organizational critical tasks are managed such as: Anti-Harassment training, Affirmative Action Plan annual updates, EEO reporting, ACA, etc all remain current

Benefits expert is empowered to identify, manage, and deliver benefits that align to Truss’s values.

  • Short- and long-term recommendations are developed and delivered to ensure benefit programs meet the needs of a diverse workforce, while maintaining compliance with all legal requirements
  • Relationships with benefit providers and vendors are managed and contracts are negotiated to optimize cost-effectiveness and service quality
  • Employees and benefits providers have a liaison to resolve issues and ensure a smooth claims processIndustry trends and benchmarking data are analyzed to inform enhancements and updates to the benefits offerings
  • Benefits broker options are researched, reviewed, and vetted to identify best future partners with an understanding of benefits offerings that are most important to Truss employees and is a competitive advantage

Innovative, sustainable programs, policies, and initiatives are created and implemented by gaining buy-in from leadership and communicating changes to the broader organization.

  • Strategic employee initiatives that align with the organization’s goals and values are established and communicated to leadership and the company
  • Policies are updated to stay current with evolving business needs e.g. travel policy, sabbatical policy
  • Change management and communications strategies are collaboratively established, maintained and managed in collaboration with the Truss Leadership Team

THE SKILL SET

  • Enjoys and works best in an ever fluctuating and collaborative environment to support a matrixed organization and thrives in a cross functional approach to solutioning
  • Experience supporting a diverse, distributed organization with expert knowledge of various state and legal employment compliance requirements
  • Excellent project, program, and time management skills to juggle competing initiatives and deadlines
  • Expertise in strategic implementation of Human Resource practices (re: benefits, compliance, etc) to accommodate organizational changes
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote environment and utilizing collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, Gsuite
  • Possess strong verbal and non-verbal communication to effectively gain internal stakeholder buy-in, manage vendor relationships, and communicate People & Culture changes effectively. Experience communicating and collaborating with C-suite is beneficial
