COO, Operations


The Operations group is responsible for refining processes and redesigning business operations by efficiently utilizing resources to exceed customer requirements and service. Our mission is to integrate, transform, and strengthen the enterprise through automation, risk mitigation, effective controls, and state of the art technological solutions to operate at an optimal level.


Operations goal is to build a more unified, more integrated approach to Wells Fargo's business operations functions focused on enhancing our operational excellence, meeting our regulatory remediation efforts, and better serving customers.


Shared Services Operations


Shared Services Operations includes all operational processes and have direct management of Wholesale Payments (Wires/ACH), Lockbox, KYC, Tax, Regulatory Reporting and Data Privacy and Document Capture.


The Role


The Shared Services Operations Head Of Strategy And Execution Will Work With Operations Functional Leaders, The Head Of Shared Services Operations And The Shared Services Operations Leadership Team To Create a Client Focused Target State And Strategy That Includes But Is Not Limited To


  • Identification and solutions for gaps in target state and roadmaps by individual functions/values streams
  • Client focused target states for each functional end to end value stream that achieve best in class capabilities including a strong, proactive, control environment
  • Key measures that reflect the value to our clients, employees and shareholders
  • Clear and concise communication and engagement with all stakeholders to accelerate adoption, ensure alignment, share reuse opportunities across the Company and collect feedback to inform refinements to the roadmap
  • On-going benchmarking to validate and refine the roadmap
  • Creation, alignment and execution of a multi-year year roadmap to achieve the target state
  • Ensure Shared Services Operations investments are aligned and optimized to the target state to maximize progress and client outcomes
This leader will have strong leadership skills, the ability to approach business problems with creativity, and who works in an inclusive and influential manner to empower the broader team. This person will be delivery focused and will partner with our team of high-performing professionals to enhance efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness. They will translate strategy into actionable steps for execution and take a hands-on approach, working with key partners to ensure execution risks are identified and addressed. They will need to develop and manage a streamlined set of routines to create, document and maintain the intellectual capital.


Required Qualifications, US


  • 4+ years of Management experience
  • 8+ years of Strategy and Planning experience or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:


  • Prior Experience as a Transformation leader driving change across an organization.
  • Top tier Strategy and/or Management Consulting experience.
  • Extensive experience within financial services industry, and preferably will have worked in a similar role.
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Hands on experience facilitating and documenting functional target states at the service and process level.
  • Strong analysis skills to get to the core of issues.
  • A clear and concise communication style that can simplify the complex and ensure a common understanding can be quickly reached.
  • High EQ to help influence a broad constituency of stakeholders, and to work hand in glove with the Head of Shared Services Operations.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with a focus on delivery management.
  • Confidence to meet with the most senior leaders of Wells Fargo and represent Wholesale Operations.


Pay Range


144,400.00 - 300,000.00 USD Annual


May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards
