The Director, Market Strategy & Planning, Topix Skin Health
The Director, Market Strategy & Planning, Topix Skin Health is responsible for the creation of the channel strategy for various retail/retailer focused brands, brand segments, and categories. The Director, Market Strategy & Planning is responsible for aiding the sales team in translating national business plans into customer specific business plans that achieve brand and financial objectives across the portfolio. This role also serves as the liaison between Sales and all other functions, providing sales input in the development of customer focused initiatives and guidance to the sales team on the execution of those initiatives and other company priorities. The incumbent is responsible for delivering best-in-class strategies and marketplace approaches to maximize business results while increasing market share and growth across all retail-focused brands. The incumbent will also manage our e-retail customers. The Director, Market Strategy & Planning is accountable for influencing the development of strategic trade plans aligned with Marketing objectives and responsible for the execution of those strategies within e-retail focused or enabled accounts.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Market Strategy
o Providing voice of the customer based on their trade expertise and feedback from the Sales Team as input in the development of customer focused initiatives including new product development, promotion execution, the Sales & Operations Planning process and any other initiatives developed by the company that will be rolled out to customers
o Providing active support to the customer sales team to enable the achievement of sales and profit plans of the customer for all products within assigned portfolio
o Development of the portfolio platform and provision of customer, consumer, and buyer insights to enhance customer team's ability to maximize growth and share with customers
o Supporting best practice business development with sound and consistent processes and communication to the Sales team
o Overseeing the development of category insight plans to support the overall platform for skin care to ensure appropriate research is identified and funded.
o Providing a marketplace view at the national level to cross-functional partners to ensure that product marketing and sales strategy is developed and executed, based on accurate insights and assumptions.
o Responsible for consolidation of collateral, insights, and data that support the delivery of customer relevant sales content inclusive of education, clinicals/scientific insights, and brand objectives, priorities, and positioning, and content required for execution of customer specific activities.
o Responsible for the execution and administration of the Promotion Planning processes across all customer, inclusive of the Consumer, Professional, and Key Accounts customer base
• Business Development
o Development of the e-retail business in pure-play customers (in collaboration with the VP, Sales)
o Leading the development and delivery of the product, placement, pricing, and promotion (4P’s) and Business Planning process within assigned brands and accounts
o Prospecting new opportunities for channel/retailer expansion across all retail-focused brands in partnership with the VP, Sales
o Collaborating with marketing, from start to finish, on the new item sales plans for specific brands
o Provides input and validation for S&OP forecasting in collaboration with the VP, Sales Operations and VP Sales, impacting customer supply and service levels
o Developing and implementing industry-leading strategy with senior decision-makers within the Company that enhance business results and operational effectiveness.
o Building and leveraging relationships with senior level cross-functional counterparts including marketing, operations, R&D, and Finance
o Fulfilling responsibility for Human and Financial resource deployment decisions and compliance to sales policies
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
Commercial leadership in different channels
Channel leadership experience and expertise in Prestige and Food/Drug/Mass including e-retail.
Prestige expertise and E-retail experience more heavily weighted based on the development of the business and existing opportunities
Accelerated growth experience
Led through periods of aggressive growth planning and new scalable new customer acquisition.
Team Leadership
Has Built and Expanded teams with strong ROI driving approach:
- Experience using leading metrics and tools such sale salesforce.com to optimize salesforce activities

Has experience both in a large/structured organization and has successfully driven scale in a smaller/more entrepreneurial organization

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

EXPERIENCE

- Minimum of 10 years of sales and/or education experience within the prestige skin/retail industries
