We're on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Head of Sales and Business Development to join our team. If you have a proven track record of scaling sales teams and businesses from Series A to B/C, possess sharp commercial acumen, and are adept at generating sales from life sciences companies and CROs, we want to hear from you.
Role Overview:
As the Sr Vice President/Vice President of Business Development, you will operate in a high-energy environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to spearhead Go-To-Market strategies on a global scale. Your primary mission will be to align sales activities with the company's vision and strategy in the Life Sciences and Health Care sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the sales team, including handling key client relationships.
- Offer periodic feedback to management and product teams regarding product development, solutions, services, and market competition.
- Review customer engagement, anticipate evolving needs, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
- Identify areas for enhancement, develop sales plans and strategies, and drive the team towards achieving sales objectives.
- Set quarterly and annual sales targets, monitor market trends, and keep tabs on competitor activities.
- Oversee sales budgets and provide comprehensive sales forecasting.
- Participate in conferences and events to bolster the company's brand and generate leads.
- Recruit and onboard sales professionals while creating effective training programs.
Requirements:
- Sales background with a deep understanding of the clinical, safety, and regulatory domains.
- Prior experience in selling engineering/digitalization services and technology products to Pharmaceutical companies and CROs (e.g., safety databases, EDC, CTMS).
- Effective interpersonal skills for customer engagement and collaborative work within a matrix organization.
- Proven track record as a Business Development Professional in Life Sciences, Health Care, or Medical Devices, ideally within a CRO or Technology company.
- Proficiency in strategic planning and creative thinking.
- Strong aptitude for customer engagement with a consultative selling approach and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sales teams and achieve revenue targets.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
