TITLE:

Senior Technical Design Associate, Furniture

DUTIES:

Work with Lead and Creative director to visually represent ideas for furniture design during the seasonal ideation phase, utilizing a combination of hand sketches, 3D models, and 3D Rendering. Provide complete and accurate Technical Drawings to Licensee twice yearly for our seasonal expressions. Follow up with Licensee to inspect counter drawings, redline reviews, foam mockup reviews, whitewood reviews, final sample reviews, and periodic quality checks of final product to ensure design integrity. Coordinate the production and answer Licensees questions in a timely manner. Weekly Recaps of current production and changes to existing product. Interface with merchandizing team to ensure construction and materials hit price targets driven by market demand. Complete visual representations of the seasonal design concept for Creative Director and Senior Leaders to review. Provide renderings of new collections for merchandizing of seasonal presentations. Work closely with the Creative team on store presentations, floor mapping, and showroom layouts. Part-time local telecommuting permitted.

SALARY:

$69,000 - $171,000/yr

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Architecture or a related field and 3 years of experience in the position offered or related, including 3 years of experience with: design and production process for luxury furniture, including materials usage , standard proportion and sizing, construction methods, and history of furniture design; creating technical drawings for the manufacture of both casegoods and upholstery, including construction, finish standards, fill and stitch specification, custom hardware specification, and appropriate related industry standards of production; 3D modeling, rendering, and hand sketching experience; 3D modeling software including Rhino or Solidworks, Autocad and photorealistic Rendering in Keyshot, V-Ray or equivalent and Adobe Creative Suite. Requires 2 years of experience with every aspect of the entire design process from ideation to final retail ready drawings and products. Part-time local telecommuting permitted.
