Here is what you need to know about the job:

We are looking for a ‘brilliant’ Senior Sweater Designer to research, design and action sweater collections for our growing business.
To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of sweater knit design, Fashion trend, USA market and customers. You should also have experience interpreting runway trends into commercial products, sketching, executing samples and design needs from conception to production.
Ensuring you and your team produce compelling collections for our customers through delivering high quality pieces on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Attend fittings and review samples for design changes.
  • Prepare and present product collection presentations.
  • Provide direction for colorways, artwork, and stripe layouts.
  • Support the PD team in sourcing yarns and stitch techniques at target price points.
  • Curate seasonal color, yarn, and silhouette trends.
  • Maintain digital boards with up-to-date sketches, tear sheets, and trims.
  • Partner with SVP and trend team in concept development and styling direction.
  • Create and maintain seasonal line sheets and design archives.
  • Adhere to design calendar and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the CFT and customers to maintain design intent and point of view.
  • Design and manage four seasons for 6 private label womenswear brands, including research, product design, and development follow-up.
  • Own technical sketches, detail specs, and trim charts for the Product Development team.
  • Monitor sales and retail sell-through to inform future collections.
  • Keep up-to-date with market technology, trims, and raw materials.
  • Lead contributor to inspiration boards, prints/pattern boards, and details boards.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • At least 5 years' experience in sweater design.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and presentations.
  • Proficiency in Canva, MS Office, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Strong design point of view, in-depth market knowledge, and research skills.
  • Strong yarn terminology, knitting techniques, and garment construction knowledge.
  • Positive attitude with a goal-driven work ethic.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent illustration and flat sketching abilities.
  • Knowledge of digital design/3D software (e.g., CLO, experience not essential).
Compensation/Benefits:

  • The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $122,000.00. The offered salary or salary range for this position will vary based on role requirements, skill set and years of experience.
