Description
The Learning Design Professional 2 uses instructional design, cognitive psychology and adult learning theory to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap. The Learning Design Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities
The Learning Design Professional 2 analyzes content, organizes content, designs solutions, and writes storyboards, scripts, performance support, mobile learning and manuals. Analyzes learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content. Writes effective learning objectives and coordinates performance assessments to measure training effectiveness. Ensures course materials are current and relevant to training needs. Tracks and analyzes the training programs effectiveness by examining learner's satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement. Provides instruction and guidance to Facilitators. Knows how to use social media and collaborative tools to facilitate learning. Plans, organizes, and develops training curriculum, materials, job performance aids and programs to meet specific training needs. Uses consultative skills to commit projects and conduct needs analysis with clients to determine whether learning solutions are necessary or relevant. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications
- Critical thinking skills
- Technical experience with Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Experience with learning and training (can include side by sides, mentoring, etc)
- CPC - R certification
- Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and Instructional Design
- Experience managing complex projects
- Experience with facilitating adult learning courses (either in person classes or via distance / on-line learning)
- Experience working with enterprise Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Cornerstone
- Clinical or medical coding knowledge
- Applied knowledge of creative products, such as Adobe Flash, Captivate, Photoshop, Storyline, Powtoons, etc.
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in developing and/or deploying training with mobile learning
To ensure Hybrid Office/Home associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Hybrid Office/Home associates must meet the following criteria:
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
- Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
