Job Description

Job Summary/Purposes


The Senior Manager (or Director level if applicable) of Retail Merchandising / Wholesale, Miu Miu will lead RTW Retail Buying and Wholesale for the Americas. This role will also be responsible for meeting seasonal sales projections and for the growth and management of the respective brand and categories for which they are accountable.


Responsibilities


  • Sell, execute, monitor, and review the collection of all independent client orders within the US and Canada
  • Supervise and train Sales Coordinators as well as Interns in terms of their sales, client relations, and operational responsibilities
  • Negotiate seasonal budget expectations with independent clients
  • Execute and supervise seasonal competitive studies
  • Propose new candidates for distribution within the US and Canada to be presented and reviewed with the VP of Americas
  • Create global collection overviews to be used for store training
  • Monitor the situation of sales in accordance to the Company’s reporting;
  • Train independent stores on upcoming collections through store visits and seasonal clinics
  • Collaborate with the Visual Merchandising team in the planning of product display
  • Partner with independent retail buyers to form business relationships to enhance the brand with the respective client’s retail venue
  • Analyze the peculiarities of the market in terms of fashion trends, positioning of competitors, and characteristics of clients through a constant presence in the territory and by providing constant feedback to the referring Headquarters Retail Merchandising;
  • Develop and participate in sales events
  • Negotiate delivery windows and shipping caps
  • Prepare and plan seasonal sales budgets for all relevant independent accounts
  • Review and manage good quality, defective and RTV (return to vendor) merchandise with VP
  • Maintain constant contact with stores, even in terms of the presence in the stores, in order to reveal any eventual criticisms, update sales associates with regard to product characteristics and any relevant sales information;
  • Manage the cooperative advertising requests and content
  • Review and analyze seasonal retail sales information to enhance the respective business within the US and Canadian markets
  • Provide feedback to the Headquarters Retail Merchandising in a timely manner in terms of responding to clients on the collection (i.e. wearability, lack of articles, product or material defects);
  • Participate in all Visual activities in terms of the initial approach, the follow-up, and the eventual repositioning;
  • Collaborate with the Headquarters Retail Merchandising and the Merchandising Planning Department in the elaboration of the sales budget relative to the specific geographic area and merchandise category;


Requirements


  • Advanced demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Must have a pulse on the luxury RTW landscape
  • 8-12 years of luxury RTW buying experience or wholesale
  • 40-50% travel required (includes domestic & international)


The annual salary range for this position may vary from $140,000 - $150,000, and if applicable, may be eligible for bonuses and other incentive opportunities. The rate of pay offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
