Recently acquired by Blackstone Private Equity, CoreTrust is growing rapidly and we’re looking for a dynamic Senior Manager, Contracts and Sourcing Expert (Human Resource.)
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Sourcing, you will be responsible for negotiating agreements within Human Resource related categories including pharmacy benefit management, payroll services, background screening, various insurance provider solutions, and future HR category expansion offerings. The primary objective is to ensure best-in-class industry pricing, contractual terms and conditions not otherwise available in the market today.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned, expert negotiator with in-depth knowledge and a successful track record in complex contract negotiations. You have a meticulous understanding of contract terms and conditions and use best practices and deep knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve the contract portfolio. You exercise great judgment in selecting and/or adapting methods for obtaining solutions - taking a new perspective on using existing solutions to solve complex problems. You demonstrate project leadership for cross-functional teams like finance, contract administration, etc.
Responsibilities
- Own sourcing process including market research, bid preparation, RFI, Strategy Development & Validation, RFP, Contract Negotiations, and contract launch
- Serve as the expert on suppliers to develop strategies, create leverage, mitigate risks, and anticipate market trends and supplier direction by interpreting supplier SEC filings, annual reports, or analyst reports, discussing future product pipelines with suppliers, reviewing current or future technology, and representing CoreTrust at supplier site-visits
- Meet or exceed financial and operational goals in the annual contracting plan with existing and future categories
- Champion business process change, organizational change, and cultural change -- could include leading process improvement or training initiatives
- Oversee supplier relationship end-to-end, from sourcing process to participation in supplier business reviews to reviewing new product in assigned categories
- Develop contract strategy, formulating a clear vision and articulating steps to achieve the negotiation objectives
- Investigate new supplier entrants to market, understanding the multi-business unit supplier and how they will leverage their capabilities
- Point of escalation for supplier and/or customer issues
- Collaborate with internal teams including legal, finance, marketing, account management, and more
- Independently plan and execute project timelines for assigned categories and category expansion efforts
- Serve as the contractual subject matter expert to support sales team and their customer engagements
Qualifications
- Formal negotiation training is preferred
- Keen awareness to market and supplier dynamics, with the ability to leverage them for optimal outcomes
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral, written communication skills, and presentation skills required, to interface effectively with supplier and customer executives
- Certifications like CPSM or industry specific certifications preferred
- 7+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in strategic sourcing and negotiating a variety of contracts in the human resource categories
- Ability to identify problems independently and demonstrate creativity in developing alternative solutions and recommendations
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Understanding or aptitude to learn the product categories assigned and category expansion opportunities, as well as how end-users interface with the products and relevancy to our customers
- Ability to start with the desired end-result, goal or objective as communicated by executive management and take action to accomplish
- Understanding or demonstrated ability to learn in-depth aspects of portfolio including product features and benefits, product comparisons between supplier offerings, operational impact to provider, future product pipeline and impact on market, cost drivers (direct and indirect), market dynamics to include commodity and relevant indices, and end-user groups and sensitivities they have towards the products
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to create or interpret potentially complex financial models
- Experience interpreting complex instructions, proposals, and contract language
