SolomonEdwards client is looking for Senior Director/Deputy Head, Business Transformation to run the day-to-day management of select Business Transformation functions on behalf of the Vice President and lead strategic planning for the development of new and growing functions, including overseeing the development of an actionable strategy for select functions.

• DURATION: 6 Month Consulting to a Full Time (FTE) position (Contract to Hire/Onsite).
Summary of the Position
The Business Unit’s Business Transformation (BT) Department leads efforts to
ensure that the business unit delivers on its growth strategy. The Department serves two critical.
roles: 1) it provides internal services and offerings to functions, and 2) it facilitates large,
often multi-year, initiatives that make fundamental changes in how the business unit operates.
The Department is comprised of six functions:
- Market Intelligence: monitoring US Government and competitor news, trends, and reports; analyzing awards and spending data; and distilling key takeaways for key stakeholders.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning: supporting project and proposal activities through short-term technical assistance (STTA) at all stages in the project MEL lifecycle.
- Partnerships: developing and leading partnering strategy, including its alignment with client’s priorities.
- Digital Products: providing technical advisory services on digital product development and supporting key digital products used across the Business Unit portfolio.
- Business Analytics: mining quantitative and qualitative data and turning it into useful information.
- Continuous Improvement: responding to evolving compliance requirements and advancing both incremental and transformative improvement.
Responsibilities Strategy and Leadership
- Champion ideas/decisions that show potential for significant impact in support of Business Unit objectives while acknowledging a reasonable and manageable amount of risk.
- Prioritize objectives and implement strategies to achieve business unit initiatives as part of the senior management team. Correctly frame problems to drive productive discussion, identifying objectives and plans to achieve them.
- Lead strategic planning for the development and execution of new and growing BT functions. Tasks include strategic development, recruitment, and onboarding of staff in these targeted functions.
- Working with the Vice President, Business Transformation (BT) to refine Department strategy and mission and assist in strategic goal setting.
- Provide timely, high quality, and effective service to customers.
- Work across BT functions to review and align individual team workplans with department mission and prioritization.
- Deploy data and evidence to drive department and cross-business unit prioritization.
- Serve as strategic “thought partner” to VP, Business Transformation.
Management
- Treat all stakeholders with respect and dignity and foster effective teambuilding among teammates and stakeholders; manage a diverse workforce and a variety of work situations.
- Credibly model, promote, and defend values in internal and external interactions.
- Manage day-to-day work of select functions within the Business Transformation teams.
- Create and/or strengthen linkages among all Business Transformation functions.
- Take action to address performance issues.
- Serve as acting Vice President as needed.
- Ensure employees are appropriately recruited, selected, trained, appraised, and rewarded.
- Build and manage workforce based on organizational goals, budget considerations, and staffing needs.
Budget
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor to achieve mutual goals.
- Build and maintain relationships at all management levels of the corporation.
- Develop regular budget projections for Vice President. Coordination and Communication
- Develop briefing materials for key meetings/strategy updates as needed.
- Develop the comprehensive budget for the Business Transformation department including allocating budget resources to align with team expansion.
- Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary.
- Monitor the department budget on a monthly basis.
- Effectively and consistently communicate internally on a range of complex and noncomplex issues/concepts with all levels of staff.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in difficult circumstances and for difficult messages and mentor staff on complex communications.
- Provide updates to Vice President, Business Transformation and/or various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, create inclusive work environments, and work effectively within a culturally diverse environment.
- Strategic vision with the ability to execute and anticipate the impact of changes on the workforce and business.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building, and negotiating skills.
- At least 7 years of supervisory experience, with proven experience building the professional capacity of direct reports to lead high-performing teams.
- Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in process reengineering, process mapping, drafting protocols, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex or technical information clearly, and tailor communication style to diverse audiences.
- Prior project management or process management experience.
- Minimum of 14 years of relevant experience in and a college degree. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Able and willing to adjust work schedule, as needed, to support teams located in different time zones/countries.
- Strong judgment and ability to make sound decisions in a dynamic setting.
- Demonstrated leadership presence and maturity when managing teams and presenting to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in process design, process improvement, and change management.
- Experience with data analytics and/or project management software tools.
- MBA and/or advanced business analytics degree.
- Consulting background as well as corporate strategy experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification.

Rate $80-$100 per hour W2. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
