Position overview:
We seek an experienced, proactive Senior Director of Human Resources. This key position is responsible for leading the human resources department and ensuring that the company has the best possible talent in place to achieve its goals. The successful candidate will be deeply involved in employee engagement, career development, and performance management, with a focus on building and maintaining a high-caliber team and culture. Responsibilities also include developing and implementing HR strategies, overseeing recruitment and hiring, managing compensation and benefits, and providing career development opportunities for employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of success in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and be comfortable working with modern tech stacks.
The role will also demand direct, meaningful employee interaction and the management of a small, highly-effective HR team.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's business goals,including but not limited to HR target Goals and Achievements.
Promote a high-performance culture, guiding the team in setting and achieving ambitious goals.
Oversee performance management, designing systems that ensure accountability and foster professional growth.
Experience with professional services firms.
Lead talent acquisition, setting strategy and ensuring the recruitment of exceptional team members.
Develop and implement effective onboarding, training, and career development plans to support employee retention and satisfaction.
Manage compensation and benefits programs, ensuring that they are competitive and aligned with the company's culture.
Provide career development opportunities for employees, including coaching, mentoring, and training.
Administer employee relations programs, including performance management, disciplinary action, investigations, and terminations.
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Maintains all employee data in the HRIS system.
Foster open communication between employees and management, acting as a liaison and advisor on all HR-related matters. Respond to HR related employee questions.
Manage HR operations, including benefits administration and HRIS & ATS.
Develops, implements, communicates, and maintains all HR related policies, procedures, and associated documents.
Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations, and oversee employee relations matters.
Create and nurture a healthy, inclusive, and engaging work environment.
Manage and mentor the HR team, providing guidance and support to drive performance.
Performs other duties, projects, actions as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
10+ years of experience in Human Resources disciplines with a proven track record of success in Human Resources at the Director level.
Proven experience in strategic HR, including workforce planning, performance management, talent acquisition, employee development, and HR analytics.
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing small teams and influencing at all levels.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
High proficiency with Google Docs, Asana, Confluence and HRIS platforms.
Comfort with the ability to utilize technology to streamline HR processes and implement automation options.
Superior communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation).
Strong understanding of employment law.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree or HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, etc.).
