Senior Accountant (Fully Remote)

Our client is in the healthcare marketing/benefits space and is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. This is a remote position but my client would like someone in the Atlanta area that can meet up from time to time for meetings, etc.

Purpose of the Senior Accountant position: Support the accounting & finance function for this growing organization through your accounting & analytical skills, and the implementation of tools, processes and projects that drive efficiency, improve financial controls & reporting, and better forecast future growth.

As the Senior Accountant, you will:

• Assist in preparation of financial statements, charts and analytics.
• Support the analysis/distribution/presentation of financial reporting to executive leadership and other stakeholders of the organization.
• Support annual reporting, and 3rd party tax preparation and audits.
• Active involvement in banking, cash management and e-payments
• Track the organization’s bank statements / reconciliations, financial reports, and tax returns for easy access and use in audits, field exams and management requests.
• Perform/support these key accounting functions:
• Participate in the selection, testing and implementation of new accounting software for the organization during the current year.
• Prepare and/or review journal entries; able to close the books.
• Assist CFO or other accounting leadership in developing policies and processes for the organization including internal controls, cash management and financial accuracy.
• Assisted in preparation / compilation of data for any future audits and compliance reviews, including uploads of documents and preparation of confirmation letters
• Communicate to senior management and finance team on a regular basis: bank balances, projected cash flow and outstanding obligations,
• Track and update insurance policies, annual corporate registration / license renewals and key vendor contracts.
• Complete account/bank reconciliations; handle AP & AR functions
• Track and monitor organization expenditures against budget and prior periods; communicate results to departments/entities and to executive management with variance explanations and trends noted in our business operations.
• Support development and analysis of budgets, forecasts & monthly reporting
• Develop an understanding of key performance metrics for the various lines of business and then report on these consistently.

As the Senior Accountant, your background should include:

• CPA preferred, but not required.
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• 6+ years in a Staff Accountant capacity.
• Four-year degree from a reputable institution in Accounting or Finance.
