Current has completed the acquisition of Hubbell® Incorporated’s commercial and industrial (C&I) lighting business, creating a premier end-to-end lighting solutions business. This brought together two iconic businesses with deep innovation heritage, strong brands and application expertise and allows Current to be strategically positioned to now focus all investments into lighting and controls solutions. We have an enhanced distribution footprint and digital tools to service customer needs more easily, quickly and efficiently, and strong new product pipelines and shared patented technologies to deliver added value to customers. Primary office locations are Cleveland, OH and Greenville, SC, with centers of expertise locations in Austin, TX, Rolling Meadows, IL and Quebec, Canada. Manufacturing operations reside in Hendersonville, NC, Pittsburgh, PA, Plympton, MA, Christiansburg, VA, Acuna, MX and Tijuana, MX.
This is a critical sales leadership role that is responsible for ensuring the regional sales team meets or exceeds their sales targets and that agent/distribution partnerships are mutually beneficial from a sales volume and profit perspective. This position is available due to retirement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates and conducts sales meetings, sales training, product promotional activities and new product launches at the regional level.
- Assists in other region’s activities as needed to assure achievement of national sales goals and business objectives.
- Obtains, coordinates and submits information on competitive products, programs, technical developments, pricing, and other activities and shares internally with the appropriate functional teams.
- Leads the strategic direction of the assigned sales region and is responsible for driving sales growth through a strong and dedicated sales team. Hires, trains, develops, engages, and supports team members working in the sales region.
- Participates in a formalized method for evaluating agent performance and holds agent partners accountable for meeting/exceeding sales goals. Evaluates need for agency upgrades for assigned region.
- Ensures a strong relationship with internal functional teams, agent/distribution partners, specifiers, local customers in effort to develop, implement, and drive all programs and subsequent activities to ensure successful attainment of sales goals.
- Achieves all sales penetration goals assigned to the territories within the region and works with local sales team members to create plans for growth where goals are not being met.
- Implements and develops acceptable methods of sales forecasting for assigned regions and providing forecasts on an as needed basis through routine discussions with sales team members, agency partners, and channel partners.
- Remains knowledgeable in the products and systems represented in order to act as a resource for agencies in training and making joint calls with business associates as needed to achieve sales goals.
- Responsible for sharing all regional/national activities and programs with the regional sales team members. Participates in select national and regional trade shows and events as needed.
- Self-started and highly motivated
- Prior agent management experience
- 5-10 years sales management experience to include leading sales team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytical ability
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field
- Solid presentation skills with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Sales and/or sales management experience in C&I lighting industry and/or C&I electrical industry with prior management responsibility
- Comprehensive knowledge of sales and sales processes
Compensation
The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is 180,000-200,000.
