Research Data Coordinator, Tyler Texas

The Research Data Coordinator will coordinate activities for the implementation of research studies. Impacts patient data for research studies.
This position is based in the Tyler, Texas area. May involve travel to research sites in the Northeast Texas region.
ESSENTIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Research Coordination - Assists Principal Investigator and other staff with research study procedures, including but not limited to: coordinating and conducting all aspects of recruitment under the direction of investigators, (including phone and mail contact), study registration, communicating study objectives and procedures to prospective and enrolled study participants, scheduling of study participants, and administering informed consent when designated by investigators. Assists with the preparation of presentations and materials. Provides community outreach, community presentations and education to the participant communities.
Protocol coordination - Follows study protocol procedures, providing input as appropriate for changes, updates, and revisions to survey instruments and data collection procedures. Identifies and reports needed protocol and procedural changes. Coordinates the ongoing implementation of assigned research protocol(s). Defines recruitment and retention strategies. Assists in the formatting of research protocols, implementation of questionnaires, and cancer screening assessments.
Data coordination - Tracks and maintains records of study recruitment and participation. Maintains confidential study files and records in an organized and secure manner, including participant contact information, consent forms, data code sheets, and other relevant materials. Must be able to build and/or maintain simple Excel spreadsheets.

EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred degree: Bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Two years of related experience. With preferred degree, no experience required.
