Job Description
Overview:
Position Summary:

The Regional Facilities Manager will oversee building maintenance (Electrical, Plumbing, Roof, Paving, Painting, LED Lighting) for 150+ locations and ensure quality control is maintained through all self-performing and outsourced jobs.

Organizational Relationships:
Position reports to the Senior Director of Facilities and EV Infrastructure. Relationship building is key within this position, with the incumbent also having a dotted line relationship to the Regional President and regularly interacting with Regional Management, Store Management, as well as HQ personnel at every level.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and suppliers.
  • Travel to markets within the region to oversee work performance, understand the store network and represent the AutoNation Facilities Team area to all internal management, city planners, officials, and vendor partners as necessary.
  • Creates & Manages training program for Maintenance Technicians that will encourage career development while providing AutoNation with more self-performing capabilities.
  • Uses data and analytics to maintain budgets, workflows, and efficient project scopes.
  • Lead a team of Asset Managers, Supervisors and Technicians that will diagnose and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently, including the ability to prioritize in-house vs outsourced jobs.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on trades, costs, materials, local knowledge, and alternatives to HQ personnel to improve decision-making toward most cost efficient and timely facility solutions.
  • Communicate regularly to Regional President, Market Presidents, General Managers and VP of Finance to become the primary point of contact for all building maintenance items.
  • Sets Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators that are regularly reported on.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Regional Leadership and CRES Team to establish fiscal planning (OPEX & CAPEX).
  • Aggressively pursue the on-boarding of quality vendors across all trades to continuously improve operating performance.
  • Actively engages in RFP development, reviewing scope, negotiating expenses and timeframes seeking out the best solutions for the facility network.
  • Drive operational excellence of all projects and provide consistent feedback to all facilities team members.
  • Review and approve proposals and invoices through Service Channel.

Qualifications:
  • Data analytics using Excel or Service Channel.
  • Intermediate to advanced functional ability to utilize work order processing software, Service Channel preferred.
  • Ten years minimum of broad construction trade experience and deep expertise in Electrical, Lighting, Plumbing, Roofing, Paving, HVAC, Painting, General R&M (doors, locks, gates, windows, drywall, etc.,)
  • Valid in-state driver’s license and have maintained an acceptable, safe driving record.
  • Must meet company’s requirements for employment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred; Trade licenses a plus.
  • Proven ability in a managerial or supervisory role to manage outsourced construction projects and self-performing jobs.
  • Demonstrated excellence in relationship building and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent air and automobile travel within the United States (up to 25%).
  • Must be comfortable with industry typical movement including walking, bending, stretching within and around buildings including stairs, roofs, low ladders etc.
