Quarry Superintendent Jobs

JOB DESCRIPTION: Holcim (US) Inc. seeks a Quarry Superintendent in Holly Hill, SC to provide supervision, leadership, and technical expertise in the mining process at our Holly Hill Cement Plant. S/he will ensure mining development and production activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, in compliance with all internal and external regulations and requirements, to deliver the planned production volumes in a timely manner, and in accordance with quality requirements. Key responsibilities include:

• Lead quarry in accomplishing short and long term mining plans.
• Development and train all quarry personnel.
• Maintain a high level of communication with other plant departments.
• Monitor all phases of operations for potential improvements and optimization.
• Assist production manager in preparing short term and long term mine planning.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Function as a safety leader in the plant and quarry by demonstrating a personal commitment to working safely, in compliance with all internal and external requirements, ensuring that the operation continues to eliminate work related risks by increased use of hazard recognition techniques; function as a strong advocate and leader in promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
• Conduct daily supervision of all aspects of the mining operation and mining personnel.
• Supervise the maintenance of the mobile equipment at projected costs or lower.
• Monitor and control costs in quarry to meet budgetary goals.
• Work with production manager to prepare annual budgets.
• Maintain desired level of production and product quality.
• Monitor and forecast cost performance on a monthly and/or weekly basis.

This is not a work from home position and travel is not required.

• 7 years: With quarry manufacturing processes
• 5 years: Managing a fleet of large mobile equipment for the extraction and utilization of mining resources
• 7 years: Mining supervision, including managing operational maintenance, and personnel issues on mining projects
