We need a diverse workforce to do our best work. We need the makers, the forward thinkers, the problem solvers, and everything in between. That is where you come in. We are looking for a Quality Manager at our Twinsburg, OH manufacturing location.

Job Summary:

Develops, implements, and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. Defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of company products. Participates in the reviewing of engineering designs to contribute quality requirements and considerations. Assists product support areas in gathering and analyzing data. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

The Quality Manager helps to guide and support a team of quality engineers responsible for driving quality process improvements, standardization and modern methods into the manufacturing process. You and your team will collaborate with engineering teams, business partners and other quality functions in order to influence the manufacturing of our products.

This role ensures that quality is built into our processes and has the ability to make major impacts on product quality, collaborating with leadership across Quality, Engineering, Product Management, and Operations. The environment fosters a collaborative and innovative approach to work. It is dynamic, fast-paced, and requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for quality improvement and provides appropriate support and leadership in the area of quality control.

This work requires attention to detail, managing multiple priorities and taking actions with minimal direction which may encompass but not limited to the following:

  • Conduct Customer visits for issue investigation, issue status updates and issue follow up after resolution
  • Demonstrate a commitment to employee development, beginning with self, by actively partnering in the talent acquisition and performance management processes, providing continuous performance feedback to direct reports. Develop goals/targets for all direct reports and regularly provide feedback on progress towards those goals.
  • Model an energetic and enthusiastic response toward achieving company goals and priorities, using clear communication of objectives and motivation through rewards and recognition to unify others around a common vision and goals to achieve business and customer objectives.
  • Responsible for Organization Design, Workforce Strategy, Career Development and Mentorship to deliver positive business outcomes. Provide leadership and motivation in the support of best practices, compliance and training initiatives, ensuring timely completion.
  • Advocate and maintain an inclusive environment of open and honest communication, enhancing a culture of mutual respect and integrity in which information flows freely by actively listening to and responding to employee concerns and issues, demonstrating integrity and trustworthiness under all circumstances.
  • Collaborate with customers, peers and other Rockwell functions including Sales, Customer Care, Customer Support & Maintenance, Product Quality and Business Units to understand top level business forecasts for all location products, and understand and manage changes due to new products, series changes, and gain consensus on how to address issues.
  • Lead courageously during organizational change, practicing flexibility, confidence, and resilience, while maintaining operational effectiveness during periods of tumult and change, ensuring a positive and resourceful response to unexpected circumstances.
  • Help your team eliminate cost of poor quality by leading improvement activities in design, manufacturing, and supplier quality capabilities and processes so your team is best in class in helping to create robust, reliable and consistently manufacturable products
  • Build strong relationships and partnerships to leverage ideas, capabilities, and processes, by fostering a collaborative environment that instills pride, ownership and engagement by all employees, seeking every opportunity to obtain, consider and process all input before making critical decisions or before moving forward with initiatives and plans.
  • Accountable for measuring, reporting and positively impacting financial performance and key metrics for the operations team including safety, quality, customer delivery, and productivity improvement while integrating and streamlining processes throughout the supply chain and ensuring adoption of best practices to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Responsible for anticipating and meeting the information needs of all organizational levels, comprehending the needs and requirements of customers or business partners and providing status updates to key functional areas on top issues.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of production operations to identify and/or solve highly complex business problems and improve our ability to comply with objectives and improve responsiveness to customer requirements
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing appropriate support and leadership in the Quality for Operations activities within the Twinsburg manufacturing facility
  • Understand business objectives and strategies and build alignment and buy-in among the team. Develop and implement strategic plans that supplement and enable senior leadership’s plant and business goals within primary functional areas.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Lean Manufacturing and/or Lean Master with proven completion of projects in which solutions were sought at the root level of the problem
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Technology, or related field of study)
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience in Manufacturing environment
