Engineering Manager
Fremont, Oh – On Site
$120,000 - $140,000
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Engineering Department based near Fremont, Oh. You will be working within a busy Automotive Plastics Tier 1 responsible for the general supervision of all Engineers, for the development and co-ordination of new equipment and tooling for new production, prototype programs; Engineering Changes to Current production programs; to ensure that all new products meet established customer and Company Quality Standards.
Responsibilities
• Responsible to the Director of Engineering to ensure that company objectives, in regard to engineering or engineering projects are met.
• Accountable for timely supervision of subordinate personnel, ensuring that appropriate training / development standards are achieved.
• Responsible for the general control and supervision of all engineering projects and programs, and the correct delegation of accountability to subordinate personnel.
• Act as an advisor to plant management in respect to engineering requirements /priorities.
• Responsible to ensure that all-new molds and secondary tooling meets established quality control specifications.
• Supervise and executes submission procedures as per customer requirements. This includes part, secondary-tooling studies, layouts and lab analysis.
• Executes and assists with Q.C. troubleshooting and problem solving in conjunction with Quality Control and Production departments for new jobs with persistent quality problems.
• To ensure adequate engineering supervision, so that all tooling and equipment is available to meet scheduled customer and production requirements.
• Prepare quotations for new prototype/ production parts that include tooling and final product selling price maintain file on all parts.
• Act as a liaison between company and customers during development and early production stages of a new product.
• Ensure the provision of information to facilitate the co-ordination and early design feasibility information, for timeliness / efficiency of new parts and tooling.
Requirements
- 3 years related of engineering experience in the automotive field with increased levels of responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Must be willing to travel, possibly overnight.
- High degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to apply the principals and understand the use of geometric design and tolerance (GD & T), failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), statistical process control 1 & 2
- Must maintain strict confidentiality.
- Excellent computer skills: Windows, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
