Engineering Manager Jobs

Essential Duties:

• Evaluates and manages daily equipment downtime, Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and 3R5S activities, monitors all results reporting
• Develops preventive maintenance schedules for shutdowns and routine repairs
• Prepares and presents departmental budgets.
• Provides control and timely implementation of Control Plans and FMEAs, illustration and instruction sheets, designing of product and building and documentation of all fixtures and gages.
• Assist in cost estimating as needed.
• Develops continuous improvement plans and reports results
• Manages preventive maintenance objectives and annual KPIs
• Trains, directs, develops, supervises, and evaluates Engineering staff.
• Communicates with each department, vendors, and contractors regarding maintenance plans and issues, monitors daily shift changes communications
• Develops a communication network with staff functions and the Plant Manager to most efficiently and effectively produce parts of optimum reliability & quality within or below cost boundaries.
• Deals with and works with cross functional teams, in cases of Quality related issues from our customer
• Recommends modifications and purchases of equipment to maintain the highest level of engineering integrity.
• Coordinates and champions new launch programs and chairs “APQP” meetings.
• Promotes proper engineering attitudes of employees for establishment of sound engineering standards and objectives for measuring engineering efficiency results.
• Participates with Sales Dept. on new product launch or engineering changes.
• Manages breakdown maintenance and monitors troubleshooting with equipment failures
• Deals directly with other staff management of the Production group.
• Coordinates Engineering activities and provides guidance to Production & Quality Managers, Plant Manager and Production staff on engineering issues.
• Provides strategic planning and submits timely Engineering plans.
• Develops and implements aids to assist the Quality Department in creating an “error free” production environment.
• Process drawings and provides control and engineering changes to Special equipment.

Education / Skill / Experience Requirements

College degree in Engineering with 7-10 or more years of experience in the automotive or Battery field. Must have working knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes and in-depth knowledge of best engineering practices in automotive or Battery production facility. Other Requirements. Excellent oral/written communications, interpersonal, and computer skills required.
