Job Description
Global Communications, Program Manager

The Company

Cisco’s purpose is to power an inclusive future for all. Our technology and solutions connect everything: people, processes, data, and things. We innovate everywhere, taking bold risks to shape the technologies that give us smart cities, connected cars, and handheld hospitals. And we do it in style with unique personalities who aren't afraid to change the way the world works, lives, plays and learns. Our culture is based on the principles of open communication, empowerment, trust, integrity, and giving back to the community. It is an exciting time at Cisco!

What You’ll Do

You’ll provide operations and logistics manager for Global Communications experiential programming across all Cisco Tier 1 events (Cisco Live – EMEA, US, APJC and Cisco Partner Summit) and Global Communications Summit. Reporting to the Head of Events and Experiential Programming, you will be involved in all areas of the experiential program life cycle, from building and managing program/project timelines, collaborating with Global Communications team members on meeting content/agenda creation, attendee engagement, meeting space logistics, food & beverage management, travel coordination, to onsite execution.

Who You Are

  • Forward-thinking and flexible to deal with constantly evolving dynamics of the business and team.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in event planning and operations, preferably in the corporate sector for large scale programs.
  • Adept at multitasking under pressure, with the ability to prioritize and handle a variety of projects simultaneously, with reduced supervision.
  • Skilled with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)
  • Skilled at cultivating relationships with internal and external partners and cross-functional teams.
  • Possess a learning and growth mindset with a focus on continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment managing multiple collaborators and concurrent programs.
  • Strong organizational and project management and skills involving multiple supplier partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to take the initiative in creative problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Experience working directly with and providing high-level support to executives and their leadership team.
  • Able to travel (domestic & international) for on-site event execution.

Responsibilities

  • Drive both internal and external event programming meetings and be accountable for communications and timeline deliverables.
  • Liaise with Cisco Global Events, Global Strategic Meetings Management (GSMM), and Cisco approved external suppliers to support Global Comms Press and Analyst Conference (PAC) programs and Global Comms Summit.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal partners to cultivate and build program content, providing regular updates to program leadership.
  • Maintain event timelines, budgets and schedules to ensure operational rigor.
  • Global Communications cross-functional teams and supplier partners, ensuring timely decisions to keep programs on track, flagging potential risks.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

We Are Cisco

#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference. Here’s how we do it.

We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re “old” (30+ years strong!) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. A blockchain company. An AI/Machine Learning company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do – you can’t put us in a box!

But “Digital Transformation” is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)

Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, we give our egos a break and we give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, we take bold steps, and we take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a commitment to equality for all, there is no moving forward.

So, you have colorful hair? Don’t care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? That’s cool.
