Job Description
Position Purpose


The Event Manager will be responsible for the strategic and tactical planning of private, corporate, public and internal events. The Event Manager will ensure exceptional execution of on-site events, while promoting the Francis Ford Coppola brand and Delicato culture and values. The Event Manager will partner closely with the Food & Beverage teams, as well as other hospitality partners to provide an outstanding event experience for our Guest.


Functional Responsibility


  • Communicates and supports change initiatives and decisions in an effective manner to successfully guide team through change
  • Develops and aligns individual goals with the department's operational goals; ensures that decisions, actions, and priorities are aligned with the company's vision, mission, and strategies
  • Partners with immediate manager to determine staffing needs; attracts, motivates, and retains a workforce with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve goals and objectives
  • Manages company culture and holds self, peers, and direct reports accountable for demonstrating a constructive company culture through influential, personal behavior and actions; encourages strong work ethic and fosters an environment of trust and respect
  • Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions
  • Monitors performance and regularly communicates with direct reports to achieve mutual understanding and desired results
  • Provides employees with a safe, healthy, and rewarding work environment; ensures delivery and completion of monthly safety topics
  • Manages and monitors day-to-day operations and team performance to ensure smooth workflows and that company standards are met
  • Researches best practices, stays abreast of industry trends, and maintains awareness of regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continually improve operations
  • Coaches, guides, and develops direct reports; fully engages in the GPS (Performance Management) process; provides high-quality feedback, and ensures proper GPS documentation of employee performance, recognition, and deficiencies
  • Fosters a work environment that encourages creative thinking, promotes flexibility, and drives innovation
  • Assists in preparing the departmental budget, monitors spending, and directs team in cost-effective operations to ensure adherence to financial objectives
  • Addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner; notifies HR Business Partner and keeps immediate manager informed as appropriate


Essential Duties


  • Manages and responds to private event inquiries daily, ensuring all inquiries are responded to in a timely manner
  • Provides confirmation to clients to clearly communicate expectations for their events, makes recommendations and ensures menus and guest counts are finalized in a timely manner
  • Networks with other vendors and venues to stay abreast of industry trends and solicit referrals
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Conducts outreach to drive new events business
  • Assures the timeliness and accuracy of all event details, timelines and charges to ensure events are booked and charged properly
  • Follows-up with guests to ensure 100% guest satisfaction and establish relationship for future bookings and referrals
  • Manages Event and Food & Beverage staff in the execution of events; works with other business partners to assure their staffing and understanding of their roles in each event is clearly defined, properly staffed and expectations established
  • Maintains a professional image by adhering to the guidelines listed in the Employee Handbook
  • Tracks event finances, confirms payments and ensures proper record keeping with the Finance Department

Minimum Requirements


Education and Experience


  • High School degree or GED equivalent; Associates degree, preferred
  • 3 years of experience in a restaurant venue event or sales role booking, planning and executing private events
  • 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience


Certificates and Licenses


  • CA serve safe certified, CA ABC certified

  • Must be able to stand for at least 6 hours per shift

Working Conditions


  • Occasionally may be required to lift and carry cases of wine
  • Indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to the elements/temperature variations

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $63,105.12 to $98,595.12.


Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
