We are currently recruiting for a Regional Events Manager - this position is remote.

Our Support Center (Global Headquarters) is located in Irving, TX.


Potential Candidate:

  • Able to travel up to 75%
  • Must be (ideally) Located in CA (or in Utah or Nevada)


What will you be doing?

The Regional Events Manager is responsible for the recruiting, interviewing, training/development, execution and KPI tracking of the in-store class instructors in their region. Areas of focus include support of class instructors, helping scale the in-store class program, managing inventory needs, training and development, and class KPI tracking.


How will you do it

Recruiting:

  • Work with Store teams and recruitment to actively attract instructors to the Michaels class program
  • Coordinate coverage for stores without a Lead Instructor.


Training and Development:

  • Partner with Store Education Content Designer on instructor goals and growth plans.
  • Provide development opportunities for instructors
  • Partner with lead instructor for the region to host training and ensure training is up to date
  • Provide coaching to instructors, as needed
  • Partner with Manager – Education Programs – In-Store to build and update training
  • Hold instructors accountable for training and development


Execution:

  • Oversee the overall execution of the in-store class program for the stores in the assigned region
  • Monitor and track supplies for the region to ensure adequate stock for the stores to complete the classes

  • Communicate and reinforce all in-store marketing standards across stores
  • Work with stores to ensure marketing is driving classes and troubleshoot any problem areas
  • Partner with Store Education Content Designer to identify issues and potential replacements or permanent changes
  • Monitor, track and report out on key KPIs and metrics for the in-store class program

What Skills you will need to do your job?

  • Travel required - Able to travel up to 75%
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Operations, or related field preferred
  • Training experience preferred
  • Inventory/Supply ordering preferred
  • 1+ years management experience with a minimum of two direct reports
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong in all Microsoft Suite Applications: Work, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Inventory Planning preferred
  • Experience managing a team remotely or on a hybrid work schedule
