Job Summary:
We have an experienced team working to solve tomorrow’s challenges in optical communication through integrated innovation. The ideal candidate will complement the existing team by leading projects from definition to production, introducing best-in-class ICs to the optical communications market. The successful candidate not only understands high frequency design fundamentals but expertly provides direction and mentorship to other team members throughout the entire design phase of a project.
Responsibilities:
- Create clear documentation to support dissemination of design information to cross-functional teams.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to less experienced team members.
- Work with product engineers to analyze data from product performance.
- Derive block-level performance specifications from high-level customer requirements.
- Ensure clarity and transparency within projects across the wider engineering team (product definition, validation, applications, and test engineering) to ensure successful project delivery.
- Perform IC design activities including architecture definition, circuit implementation, design verification, layout floor-planning and post-layout verification.
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced-level knowledge of Cadence design, simulation, layout, parasitic extraction, and verification tools for analog and mixed-signal designs.
- Demonstrated understanding of analog and high-speed building blocks such as Laser drivers, TIAs, CTLEs, VGAs, AGCs, CDRs, PLLs, ADCs, and DACs.
- Expertise in analog and high frequency design (currently 85 GHz analog bandwidth), including circuit and stability analysis, noise, bandwidth extension techniques, s-parameters, and EM modeling.
- BSEE with a minimum of 7 years of analog design experience of high frequency/high speed products in BiCMOS/CMOS technology.
- Ability to provide technical leadership on a wide range of engineering disciplines on highly complex products, processes and projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with system modeling in Matlab/Simulink, System Verilog, or Verilog AMS.
- MSEE
- Experience with HFSS.
- Knowledge of ESD, BEOL variation, EMIR and Reliability.
- Comfort with non-50-Ohm characteristic impedances.
