Position Description
Pure Watercraft is creating revolutionary electric marine propulsion to ensure a future where boating will be clean, quiet, and powerful. With your help as a Mechanical Design Engineer we will provide the highest performance and most reliable electric boating system available on the market.
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who can take a lead role in developing mechanical hardware and engineering practices that will help us achieve our goal of revolutionizing the way people use their boats. Your responsibilities will span development efforts on multiple subsystems.

What You'll Mostly Do
- Build and test prototypes of designs
- Develop precision mechanical components and systems from concept to production
- Design parts, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks
- Develop verification/validation test plans and perform testing
- Perform hand calculations and structural/thermal FEA using SolidWorks Simulation
- Provide manufacturing support, as required.
- Design manufacturing/assembly tooling
What We Look For First
- BS/MS in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
- GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Experience using SolidWorks (preferred) or equivalent CAD system
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills in English
- 5+ mechanical hardware designs that have been carried from initial concept to production
Bonus Superpowers
- High level understanding of electrical/electronics engineering principles
- Experience designing products for high volume manufacturing
- Electric vehicle and/or electromechanical products experience
- Experience with safety critical systems
- Fast-growing startup experience
- Advanced thermodynamics/heat transfer design experience
- Experience designing robust systems for harsh environments
