Position Summary

The Vice Principal fulfills the mission of All Hallows Academy by working with the principal in managing the school, faculty, staff, students, and parent community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Works in conjunction with the Learning Center Director for students with difficulties learning, with ISPs, or accommodations plans in place
  • Participate in the interviewing process of new teachers and the observation process of the teaching staff
  • Assist with the Admissions process and school development program for recruiting new students, conducting tours, and assessing new students
  • Assist the principal in planning and coordinating faculty orientation, retreat, staff mass, and in-services for each new school year
  • Assists in the preparation of meetings, workshops, and professional development
  • Prepare and manage progress reports and report cards
  • Work in collaboration with the Administration in the formulation and maintenance of the curriculum budget goals
  • Provide school scheduling of classes of students, teachers, and classes
  • Maintain and model a high standard of professionalism
  • Assists the principal in the supervision of school personnel for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing professional growth opportunities and achieving overall objectives of the school’s curriculum and WCEA goals
  • Secure and schedule substitutes when needed and substitute in classrooms when necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all school matters and advocate for and enforces school policies
  • Support and assist with the responsibilities of the principal as directed and serves in the absence of the principal
  • Support and adhere to our Code of Conduct, as well as the policies and procedures of the parish and school, and the Diocese of San Diego
  • Coordinate morning announcements and update weekly faculty notes
  • Assist in the management of student technology
  • Serve on WCEA Leadership Team
  • Conducts inventories and requisition of teacher supplies, textbooks, and equipment
  • Coordinate the school’s STAR/ACRE testing regarding scheduling, make-ups, and pulling necessary data to disaggregate with the faculty
  • Carry out disciplinary policies of the school, ensuring just application across all grade levels as set forth in the Family Handbook
  • Assist and lead PLCs
  • Support the communication, training, and supervision of the faculty and staff
  • As a witness to Catholic values, be willing to model the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Assists in the evaluation of materials and developing effective strategic implementation plans
  • Provide supervision of students before and after school, as well as school-sponsored activities
  • Assist in planning and facilitating faculty meetings, staff development, and ongoing completion of the WCEA goals
  • Assist the principal in developing and maintaining an effective educational program consistent with the mission and philosophy of the school
  • Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school

Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to remain in an office at a computer workstation and access information from a computer and use a telephone. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the office, as well as maneuver throughout the parish/school facility to attend meetings, briefings, and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend meetings or events. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
