Payment Receipts Specialist - Single Business Office - Remote ($27.46 / Hour)

Job Responsibilities

• Perform payment-related tasks using manual and/or computerized systems
• Assist customers with inquiries and provide information
• Post and reconcile daily cash receipts, adjustments, and rejections from payors
• Maintain and enforce security procedures for fund safety
• Prepare deposits according to departmental procedures
• Monitor electronic remittance files for accuracy
• Other assigned duties as required
• Process payments made by cash, checks, credit card, and electronic funds transfer
• Process and reconcile accounts receivable
• Receive, distribute, transfer, and account for funds
• Provide coverage for department as needed
• Research and resolve credit balances resulting from overpayments

Requirements

• Knowledge of insurance processes and billing guidelines regulations preferred
• Strong data entry skills
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Medical terminology experience preferred
• Problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities
• Proficiency in 10-key and computer skills, including MS Office applications
• Minimum of two years' experience in accounting, banking, medical office, billing, or insurance account follow-up
• Detail-oriented

Physical/Cognitive Requirements

• Work is performed under normal conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation
• Work involves light physical exertion up to 65% of the time
• Intense concentration and attention to detail required during job duties (up to 65% of work time)
• Ability to lift objects weighing 30 lbs. or less
