The Lead Payment Specialist is responsible for the quality and timely delivery to senior management of all compensation suspense reconciliations for all accounts within Empower Retirement. Will provide direction on escalated issues and will respond directly to internal external partners. Project manages and participates in all testing for new programming and systems enhancements related to SAP and or new products which includes creating test plans and secondary testing reviews of others work. Performs second level audits on work completed by auditors to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and internal audits controls.


What You Will Do


  • Research, make independent decisions and provide direction on the resolution of all escalated and complex problems
  • Perform a second level of audit on work completed by auditors
  • Act as department representative, making decisions based on audit requirements, processing capabilities and client experience, which must be executed flawlessly
  • Work closely with and provide direction to other areas/departments to bring to resolution to any aged items
  • Responsible for the quality and timely completion of compensation suspense reconciliations for all accounts within Empower Retirement in accordance with set deadlines
  • Responsible for training of new team members ensuring they are well versed in managing workflow and adhering to all team, department, company and auditing requirements, as new products and services are introduced, takes the lead role in implementation
  • Ensure all procedural documentation is updated and team members have been trained
  • Ensure all required journal entries and periodic reporting is handled timely and accurately for all assigned work
  • Accountable for client satisfaction with the resolution and will respond via telephone, conference call, in person meetings, as well as in writing from external partners
  • Project manage and participate in complex application testing for new product rollout and system changes and enhancements to ensure delivery meets business, budgetary and end-user expectations
  • Perform secondary testing and review for all high impact (monetary and reputational) processes related to SAP
  • Provide in-depth reporting to senior management on account status and any audit discrepancies


What You Will Bring


  • 7+ years’ experience in compensation or similar role within financial services
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or equivalent work experience

  • Knowledge of audit controls and Sarbanes-Oxley

The salary range below shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.


Base Salary Range


$ 68,000.00-96,050.00
