Job Description
– Office Assistant


Liberty Life Center Church in Davie, Florida has an immediate opening for a Part-time Office Assistant. This person will be responsible for office operations and clerical support, providing customer service for general inquiries and visitors to the church office. Primary duties include answering the phone, greeting visitors/vendors, keeping and filing records, creative planning of events, and coordinating calendar events. The Office Assistant performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Liberty Life Center.


Schedule: 24 hours/ week, Tuesday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Hours are flexible and may include additional hours/ days as needed by the church.


Overview


  • Assist in planning & preparing for Special events (i.e. Retreats, Meetings, Conferences…)
  • Purchase/Prepare various food/snack/water/ supplies for office
  • Order Printed/Marketing materials as needed (i.e. visitor books, business cards, next steps cards, Bibles…)
  • Maintain working knowledge of all office equipment & supplies, and be willing to help/train others
  • Prepare for & assist Pastor with special services (i.e. Easter)
  • Perform general/light cleaning tasks as needed
  • Transcribe dictation; type letters/emails or other documents as needed
  • Perform general office work, under the supervision of the Pastor / Administrator and in cooperation with Elders and the other office staff. Maintain/respond to daily emails; collect & distribute US postal mail, order & maintain office & church supplies
  • Keep a calendar of appointments and church events. Ensure Google / Website calendar is up to date
  • Edit and prepare weekly announcements (in Word & PowerPoint)
  • Facilitate operational communications with department heads


Qualifications/Experience


  • Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to maintain focus and professionalism, both in person and by phone. This includes honoring confidentiality
  • Must be a Christian and represent not only Liberty Life Center but Jesus Christ Himself and demonstrate real love and concern for all people
  • Basic accounting/bookkeeping procedures and QuickBooks are a plus
  • Skilled at building and maintaining good, collaborative relationships and working through conflicts
  • Proficiency in email communications is required
  • Must be able to multi-task and retain accuracy in an environment of competing deadlines
  • Minimum: High School diploma or GED, some college preferred, and one year’s office administrative experience
  • Must be an active member of a local church
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to work with graphics, (i.e. Publisher, Corel Draw, or Photoshop)
  • Strong organizational, filing, and time management skills, including the ability to manage several projects at the same time


Pay Rate: $15 - $20 an hour, hourly employee
