Job Description

The ideal candidate will be able to effectivelysupervise staff,manageadministrative oversight,coordinate meetings and other office events. They should be comfortablecreating and managing work schedules, track productivity and quality outcomes.Depending upon the circumstances, this may be a working supervisor under a clinical or non-clinical area of the Practice.However this person is a member of the management team with first line responsibility for hiring, orientation, appraisal, coaching, disciplining, and training staff.A friendly demeanor is expected in order to best addresses issues with staff and patients.They keep thePractice Managerinformed on issues involving operations, work flow, customer satisfaction, and employee relations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Planning: Participates in planning discussions with input into goals for the Practice.Focused more on schedules of staff and physicians ensuring resources are available to meet anticipated daily work loads.

·Managing: Responsible for assessing work against expected outcomes:productivity, quality, timeliness.Tracks and trends work outcomes.Recommends improvements in work processes.

·Human Resources: Hires, orients, and trains staff.Conducts performance appraisals, coaches and disciplines staff.Ensures work expectations, Practice policies are communicated and responsibilities are understood.Seeks guidance and support fromPractice Managerin managing staff.

·Patient Satisfaction: Responds to patient complaints and works to resolve.Appropriately involves thePractice Managerif resolution cannot be reached.

·Everyday operations: monitoring credentialling, managing billing, financials, payroll, maintenance of facility, assist clinically and administratively. Oversee stock of administrative and clinical supplies.

·Physician and Practice Assistance: maintain professional and state licensure, insurance policies, lease renewals, schedule and monitor equipment maintenance and purchasing, lab equipment/evaluations, and inspections. Implement training/compliance for HIPPA, OSHA, CLIA, Bio-waste, etc.

·IT Knowledgeable:maintain and improve EHR practices, phone system, billing techniques and patient communications.Provide reports and monitors key performance indicators.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

  • Holding current licensure in nursing (LPN or RN) a plus.
  • Prefer minimum bachelor level education in Health Administration, Management, or Nursing.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, HIPPA, Nurse Practice Act, and Employment legislation.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Prefer a minimum of two or three years in a managerial role in a health care setting preferably in an outpatient physician primary or specialty practice.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Conditions common to a clinic environment including communicable disease, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and toxic substances, hazardous materials.
  • Fast-paced medical office environment involving contact and interaction with patients, physicians, and other clinical and non-clinical personnel.
