Job Description
NORTH AMERICA FOOD STRATEGY & BRAND DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR JOB SUMMARY:
The NA Food Strategy & Brand Development Director is responsible for leading the strategic food and restaurant brand development activities for Quick Service Restaurants (QSR’s) within Circle K. The position will oversee the food strategy development, brand relationships, contracts, and negotiation for the current QSR network, as well as brand growth and development through new to industry sites (NTI’s), raise and rebuilds (R&R’s), lease space conversions, development agreements, and rebrand projects. The position reports directly to the Head of Food Strategy & Restaurants.
Location: Any US BU office.
NORTH AMERICA FOOD STRATEGY & BRAND DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR JOB EXPECTATIONS:
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to determine the brand to be developed in each location
  • Prioritizes all development projects including but not limited to NTI’s, R&R’s, lease space conversions, and rebrands
  • Determines proforma of new sites in collaboration with the finance and restaurant director and submits to the head of restaurants for approval
  • Manages development timelines by tracking and communicating with all involved departments
  • Responsible for leading the internal and external communication and implementation of restaurant openings, closings, and transfers
  • Leads restaurant brand development and site selection for future development
  • Monitors performance to determine need for changes and to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and internal goals
  • Develops business partnerships with the best QSR brands possible that align to the Circle K growth strategy
  • Leads oversight and direction of current QSR contracts, renewals, and current portfolio management
  • Reads, understands, and negotiates brand contracts, with support from internal counsel
  • Builds the food strategy as it relates to the food and restaurant store size, location, traffic and overall offering, utilizing the various restaurant brands as needed to drive total food and restaurant growth and profitability
  • Analyzes, identifies, and interprets financial, demographic, geographic, and other data along with traffic counts and market conditions, with the support of the facilities director, to determine the viability of adding a restaurant concept
  • Submits sites to brands for approval and communicates decision to key stakeholders
  • Communicates directly with internal real estate team regarding restaurant site approvals
  • Establishes and maintains measurable criteria used for determining the favorability and sustainability of brands and new restaurant locations, with the support of the finance director
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with restaurant franchisors and their supporting development team

North America Food Strategy & Brand Development Director Qualifications
