Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Inside Sales Manager, North America
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Inside Sales Manager, North America, will report to the Director of Great White Fleet and be responsible for driving revenue through the solicitation of ocean freight business from small to medium sized, primarily non-contract shippers across the United States. Working in tandem with the outside sales team, this role will focus on capturing volume and revenue opportunities from smaller shippers, requiring frequent quotes and personalized service. Additionally, the Inside Sales Manager will collaborate closely with the marketing department to support Great White Fleet Corp marketing efforts. This position will also be responsible for market data management, market notifications, and other related tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Revenue Generation
  • Solicit and manage a national account base of shippers as assigned.
  • Back up North American Business Development Managers (BDMs) during their absences.
  • Qualify leads and prioritize sales opportunities.
Market Intelligence
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc market share reports to identify growth opportunities.
  • Manage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track and follow up on leads.
  • Utilize PIERS reports and other data sources to analyze market trends and competitive dynamics.
Marketing Support
  • Assist in coordinating and distributing branded premiums, market notifications, brochures, and presentations.
  • Contribute to website maintenance and updates to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available.
  • Monitor industry information and share relevant updates with internal teams and customers.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department to align sales strategies with marketing initiatives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prior experience in sales or customer service, preferably within the ocean or intermodal transportation industry.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Occasional travel, both domestic and international, may be required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field. Equivalent experience in ocean and intermodal shipping will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, to effectively engage with customers and internal teams.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
  • Candidate may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during a normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Candidate may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
This position requires satisfactory passing of a drug test in accordance with Florida Statute
